Amazing turn out for the Aboriginal Art workshop last Friday 🎨✨. We hope you enjoyed doing dot painting and basket weaving, as well as learning about Aboriginal art and culture.

We were so honoured to have the wonderful artists from Marra Dreaming joining us to showcase beautiful Aboriginal artifacts and share their talent and knowledge.

And special thanks to Flinders University Arts and Craft club for their great support on the day!

🎨 Aboriginal Art Workshop with Marra Dreaming

Join FEC and FUACC for a relaxed and interactive Aboriginal Art Workshop facilitated by Marra Dreaming, where art meets storytelling and culture.

In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to:

🖌 Paint on canvas while learning about Aboriginal art styles, symbols, and meanings

🧶 Engage in a narrative approach to learning, where artists share stories and cultural knowledge behind their work

🪃 Explore and interact with a collection of traditional Aboriginal artefacts, including boomerangs, coolamons, clapsticks, ochre paints, woven baskets, shell necklaces, emu feathers, and kangaroo skin

The workshop is designed to be informal and hands-on, allowing everyone to participate at their own pace. Activities will rotate so that each participant can try different experiences, including basket weaving.

This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from Aboriginal artists, deepen your understanding of culture, and engage respectfully with traditions through creative practice.

✨ No experience needed — just come along, create, and learn!
