S.A.F.E SA - Inc S.A.F.E - SA Inc - Family Escapes for the ASD community, celebrating all the wonders of the spectrum. WE ARE NO LONGER RUNNING ~ I JUST SHARE INFORMATION NOW.

S.A.F.E - SA Inc WAS a non for profit incorporated Association. We hosted regular holiday style camps, family fun days and workshops for children on the Autism Spectrum and their siblings, throughout the year. Our Aim was to create a place for families who have children on the Autism spectrum to come together and meet other ASD families, in a non-judgemental & inclusive environment, considering th

e varying scope of ASD and other associated disabilities and disorders. Our Family Escapes, gave the chance for family holidays away from judgemental eyes, with a supportive network group and a chance to make new friends who are going through similar experiences . We did not provide a funded Respite Service for children.. however we are more of an entire respite holiday program, for families to get away from their daily lives and enjoy themselves with out the fear of being judged based on their children's behaviour

We also ran many different Family Fun Days for families in all different regions of South Australia, to bring the ASD community together, spend a day getting to know families of the areas, hear their concerns and ideas as to what services they would like to see us provide. Started in 2013. We used to Host different Workshops for children 7-17 on the Autism Spectrum and their Siblings. S.A.F.E - SA Inc accepted families with behaviours similar to autism. Passing it forward...

New work by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission regarding heightened health risks related to 3 main disability cohorts (autism, brain injury, intellectual disability)... reference this work when asking NDIS for supports to prevent these heightened risks xoxox

🌻 Do you know our Sunflower story?
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower was chosen because the sunflower is a universally recognised and cheerful symbol that suggests happiness, positivity, strength, growth, and confidence.

It’s discreet yet visible, its bright yellow colour and distinctive shape make it easy to spot from a distance, helping wearers feel recognised without needing to explain their disability out loud.

- Discreet yet visible: subtle, but clear enough to show you may need extra support
- Positive and uplifting: sunflowers spread warmth and understanding
- Universally recognised: a sunflower means something good, wherever you are in the world

Without a clear, visual sign, it can be hard to understand the daily barriers faced by people with a non-visible disability. The Sunflower helps bridge that gap, with just one small symbol.
