Read Aishwarya, Milind, and their little one, Yamiβs story here!
Ganesh Utsav has always held a special place in our hearts. Both Milind and I grew up in a small town in India where bringing Bappa home for 10β11 days has been a family tradition for over 50 years! Some of our fondest childhood memories are of the Cotton Mill Ganapati festival, the huge Jatras, and the vibrant Melas that brought our whole town together in celebration.
When we moved to Melbourne in 2016 we truly missed that magical vibe β the dhol, the people, the feeling of home. After moving to Adelaide in 2021, seeing the Adelaide Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav post brought all those memories flooding back. We knew we had found our Bappa family here!
Since 2022, weβve been part of Shivgarjana Dhol Pathak, and playing the dhol for Bappa here has been such a joyful experience. We are so grateful to ASG and every single person who puts in so much effort to make this festival feel grand, warm, and special for all of us who are far away from home.
What makes it even more meaningful is knowing that our daughter Yami gets to see and be part of this celebration too. This is our 8th year bringing Bappa home in Australia, and we feel blessed that Yami is growing up with the same values and traditions that shaped us.
Lord Ganeshaβs qualities β wisdom, patience, kindness, and the strength to remove obstacles β inspire us every day. But more than anything, He reminds us of the power of community and togetherness.
Thanks to Adelaide Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Samitee and Shivgarjana, weβve found not just a festival but a family, new friendships, warm connections, and a chance to create memories for the next generation. Thatβs the true blessing of Ganesh Utsav for us.
