Following the recent floods caused by Cyclone Dithwa in Sri Lanka, many schools—particularly in rural and underprivileged areas—have suffered significant damage. Many school children have been left without access to computers and digital learning resources, severely disrupting their education.
As Sri Lankan engineers and professionals based in South Australia, SLESA would like to contribute in a meaningful and practical way by helping rebuild the Digital Dreams of these young minds.
Our Initiative: Rebuilding Digital Dreams
SLESA is initiating a program to support selected flood-affected schools by:
Providing computer hardware (new or refurbished) to restore access to digital learning
Offering technical guidance to support schools’ digital futures
Providing online courses and e-book resources
Working towards long-term digital education support for rural schools
How You Can Help
We are seeking support from our members in the form of:
Monetary donations
Computer hardware, including laptops, desktops, and essential accessories (minimum specifications to be shared in a follow-up communication)
Every contribution, big or small, can help a child reconnect with learning and opportunity.
Thank you for your continued generosity and commitment to giving back to our community.
