Every horse that comes through our program means something to us — and finding them the right home is always our biggest priority.

We put so much care into each horse’s journey, from their education program and exposure outings, to learning who they are and what kind of home will suit them best. But we know that how we share them with the world matters just as much.

“6 months off? Benno clearly spent it at Pilates.”

Fresh out of his spell and we were expecting a gentle warm-up… instead Benno came out like he’d been secretly training for Dancing With The Stars 💃

The trot? Illegal.
The suspension? Unnecessary.
The attitude? “I’ve still got it, thanks.”

Safe to say we were just passengers while Benno floated around reminding everyone that time off did absolutely nothing except upgrade the engine 😅🐎

🐎 FIRST RIDE – BENNO 🐎

Benno has officially ticked off his first ride at SSRE — and what a way to do it, heading straight out into the forest 🌲

Having previously been under saddle and exposed by his 70-year-old past owner, Benno came in with a lovely foundation that really showed today. He worked through walk, trot and canter with a calm, willing attitude, confidently taking on water, river crossings and even jumping logs without hesitation.

A horse that really catches your eye, Benno shows off flashy movement and offers a super nice, rideable feel under saddle ✨

A very impressive first outing at SSRE, with plenty more to come as his education continues 🔜

🥶🥶 FIRST OUTING 🥶🥶

Handsome, well-exposed Freddy ticking off his very first forest outing with SSRE 🐎

Despite the wet and chilly conditions, he handled everything thrown at him — from cantering and curious wildlife to river crossings — like an absolute legend.

A seriously exciting horse with a bright future ahead ✨

Looking for a safe, sensible OTTB for trail riding without the drama? 👀🐎

🐎 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – VEESIX TURBO (“Turbo”) 🐎
🌿 Safe & Sensible Pleasure / Trail Prospect 🌿

Expressions of Interest are invited for Turbo, a 2022-born Thoroughbred gelding (approx. 16.3hh, unraced) who is shaping up to be a reliable and enjoyable trail riding partner.

Formerly known as Veesix Turbo, Turbo has taken exceptionally well to life after racing. He is a kind, level-headed horse who genuinely enjoys getting out and about, and has shown himself to be calm and sensible in a variety of environments.

🌿 Has attended the forest on two occasions under saddle
🌿 Completed one outing bitless, demonstrating a soft, relaxed way of going
🌿 Confidently exposed to cattle, emus, kangaroos & traffic
🌿 Comfortable in open spaces and takes new environments in stride
🌿 Quiet, willing temperament with a naturally sensible outlook

🧾 Additional Information:
– Currently barefoot
– Teeth and worming up to date
– Sits at the bottom of the pecking order
– Good to float, catch, wash
– Currently in week 5 of his program with SSRE, with a couple more weeks to complete before departure

Turbo is still early in his retraining, however his attitude and exposure make him a confidence-inspiring ride for someone wanting a safe, straightforward horse to enjoy. He is the type that prefers to relax into his work rather than overreact, making him a lovely candidate for trail riding, pleasure riding, and low-pressure environments.

These do not affect his ability to be a safe, sound and enjoyable pleasure horse.

Today Prince had his final outing to finish his chapter at SSRE. With abit of trotting, cantering along with water emus, cows and kangaroos.🐄🦘🌳

Prince will now relax before he heads off to the Northern Territory.
