Today, we pause.

We pause to remember the brave men and women of our marine rescue community who are no longer with us — those who answered the call without hesitation, who gave their time, their skills, and in some cases, everything they had.

They stood for service, for safety, and for something bigger than themselves. They were the quiet strength behind countless missions, the steady voice on the radio, the helping hand when it mattered most.

Behind every uniform was a person — a teammate, a mentor, a friend, a family member — and their absence is felt deeply across our entire community.

Today is not just about remembrance, but about honour. Honour in continuing what they stood for. Honour in looking after each other. Honour in carrying forward the values they lived every day on the water.

To our fallen members — we see you, we remember you, and we thank you.

Fair winds and following seas.

Training Day 🚑
Recently our crew at the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard rolled up their sleeves for our First Aid & CPR refresher training – and what a great turnout it was!
It’s all part of making sure we’re ready to help when it matters most on the water and in our community.
A big thank you to Peter for taking us through the training and sharing his knowledge with the team. Your guidance helps keep our members confident, capable, and ready to respond.

Last Saturday, the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard proudly commissioned our newest vessel — Sentinel.
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came down to inspect her and give such a warm welcome into the community. Your support means a great deal to our volunteers.

South Australia Water Operations Unit in conjunction with local Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) groups, will be conducting a simulated Search and Rescue Exercise a short distance out from the Encounter Bay Boat Ramp between the hours of 8am and 1pm on Saturday 6th December.

The exercise will involve volunteers from respective VMR groups around the Fleurieu Peninsula and is vital for the ongoing response should an Emergency Situation arise.
