We’re looking for a Social Media & Market Support Volunteer to help bring One Planet Market to life online and on market days 🌿

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys sustainability, community, storytelling and social media.

Approx. 3–6 hours per month, with a mix of remote and on-site support.

You’ll help with Facebook posts, photos, event promotion, and light market day support as part of our friendly volunteer team.

Happy National Volunteer Week!

One Planet Market is here today because of the dedication, hard work and enthusiasm of our volunteers. Whether it involves coordination stalls and logistics, running the Swap and Share, Local Produce or Freecycle stalls, organising workshops and registrations, greeting visitors at the Info Desk, fixing broken household items at the beloved Repair Café, providing harmonious music, running the coffee and tea stall, or promoting the market, volunteers are at the heart of OPM.

This market started because of the passion and motivation of volunteers, and continues to run because our volunteers continue to show up month after month to celebrate and protect our planet by sharing their skills, local produce, creativity and love for nature.

We are so very grateful for everything you do and for your commitment to your local community and the environment. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today. Thank you so much for being an integral part of One Planet Market 💚

One Planet Market is moving entirely inside the Payneham Community Centre this Saturday, starting at 9am.

Come get cozy, grab a hot chocolate, and browse in the dry.

Now that local restrictions have lifted, bring your backyard surplus to our Local Produce Stall or the Swap & Share table! (Note: If travelling from Elizabeth East, please leave produce at home due to current restrictions.)

Repair Cafe Payneham (from 9:30am), FreeCycle and Adelaide Local Exchange Trading System - LETS will all be set up until 12pm.

😔 Our clothes swap on Saturday has been cancelled.

Despite giving plenty of notice and a clear deadline, we simply didn't get enough registrations to make it viable.

Running community events takes real time, effort, and cost. When people don't commit, the event can't happen. It's as simple as that.

Clothes swaps are fun, they're sustainable, and they bring community together. We'll try again next year, and when we do, we hope you'll join us and bring a friend. We'll just need you to do one simple thing: register!

To those who did register — thank you.💚 We're sorry you're missing out, and you will receive a refund minus ticketing fees. We hope to see you at the market anyway for all our regular activities.

At our next market on Saturday 16th May, we will be hosting a clothing swap!

Buying preloved clothing is one of the best ways to protect our planet.

👕 Avoiding the purchase of new clothes signals to clothing manufacturers in the fashion industry to produce less clothing. This has a massive impact on carbon emissions.

👖Many major clothing labels also have unethical labour practices, including modern slavery, child labour and unsafe work environments.

🌏 Textile waste in Australia is immensely high - every year 300,000 tonnes of clothing is sent to landfill or exported outside of the country.

🛍 Avoiding purchases at major retailers and sourcing items locally and second hand, brings the power back to the consumer, protecting communities, individuals and the planet.

Our clothing swap last year was super popular! Many clothing items found new homes, many wardrobes got decluttered, and local creators found unique pieces inspiring new art and craft items.
