Big Little Lives

Big Little Lives Providing clothes and blankets for babies who are born too soon. Big Little Lives was created in memory of Emily and Odhin, our babies who were born too soon.

Emily was born at 20 weeks, weighed 280grams and measured 15cm long. Odhin was born at 26 weeks, weighed 352grams and measured 24cm long. As mums, we wanted our babies to be warm and clothed, but there was nothing available that would fit. They were too small to fit into normal clothes made for premature babies. Even normal baby blankets were far too big to wrap the babies in.

‘Big Little Lives’

came into being so that other parents can have something available in which to clothe or wrap their babies. We are looking for anyone who can knit or sew to help us create very small clothes and small blankets for other parents who are preparing for the arrival of, or have just given birth to, very tiny babies. All items will be donated, not sold, to these families. We will have them available through hospitals, maternity units, midwifery clinics, through doulas and funeral homes. Of course, to do this, we need help! If you can knit, crochet or sew, and would like to help out, please contact us by phone or email. We also gratefully accept donations of suitable wool and material. If you would like to donate financially, we gratefully accept that as well! With our heartfelt thanks
