SRO Speed Series done for 2026 at The Bend a big thank you to everyone who came out over the 3 days. The weekend started with rain, wind and the usual cold weather and finished with some sunshine.
Racing was good across all the categories with a few people kept busy.
Big thanks to SRO organisers for dinner and to all the drivers who came and chatted with us all was a great casual night.

Vale Colin Leaker 🧡

Its with great sadness that we advise of the sudden passing of life member Colin Leaker early last week.
Colin was a valued and well respected life member of our club for many years and his contribution to our club and motorsport community was significant and deeply appreciated. Colin was club secretary for many years and his dedication, friendship and involvement will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

On behalf of SAMROA we extend our sincere condolences to his wife Margaret and all his family and friends during this difficult time.

Colin funeral service will be conducted in its entirety in Heysen Chapel, Centennial Park, 760 Goodwood Rd, Pasadena on Saturday 16th May at 11:30am.

Hello fellow marshals,

This is a call out for anyone who can help out at The Bend on Saturday 16th May for the Toyota 86 scholarship event.
This will be held on the West circuit. This is a great category as we have previously had these cars on circuit but not as a stand-alone category. We have 40 scholarship cars that will be racing in total but there will be activities, yet TBA hosted by Toyota in between each race. Currently we literally do not have enough officials to man all posts and this means that we cannot run this event safely. Absolutely awesome weekend at the Autosport All Historics event at Mallala over the weekend, was great seeing so many cars trackside and a big crowd. All categories put on a show of close racing and it was great seeing some of our old favourites back on the track. Thank you to all the competitors and car owners.
Massive well done to all our members for their efforts over the weekend, a big thank you to you all.

After a big day trackside with good racing and beautiful weather.
A grateful day thank you to John Bowe for giving up some time this afternoon to come and say hello and thank you to all our officials.
It was awesome to say hello, have a chat and take a photo or two with our awesome members.
A lovely spread of food put together thanks to Kim Morrison and Leslie Atkinson ❤️ Much appreciated by all.

We are still short on numbers for all days of the SCCSA All Historics meeting at Mallala on 17-19 April. If you are able to come along, even for just one day, we would be hugely grateful. This event is one of the best events of the year especially if your a fan of historical cars, racing is good and there is a huge variety of cars both trackside and on display. Its definitely an event worth while attending.

First Mallala event for 2026, beautiful day for it, Superkarts and Marque Sports Car Supersprint, low turn out for us but those eho came out had a good day with lots of various cars to entertain us.
A big thank you to those who came out.. sorry didn't get pics of everyone 🙄😔

Also a shout out we need more trackside people for next weekend at The Bend for SAMRC Rnd 1, please if your available for both or one day message us or register via Better Impact, we need more people to safely run the event
