Hi fellow motorsport enthusiast, The 2026 Bend Classic is on over the long weekend, 3-4th October, and is fast approaching and we are again in need of many people to help out trackside for the event.
There will be touring cars, Formula 5000, M group S Historic sports cars Group M & O Group P, Q & R Historic Formula Ford and Historic period 4-7 motorcycle racing, and a round of the National Sports Sedans with all having a good size fields. There looks to be a good weekend of racing.

Last year this event was one of the best events of the year. I would like to encourage anyone who wants to have a good trackside make this the event you give it a go.

There will be camping available for those interested. There will be more information sent out as time gets closer to all those who register.

Last night, SAMROA celebrated and thanked our members on some great achievements over the 2025/26 year at the Duke of Brunswick Hotel.

A good gathering of our members enjoyed the evening celebrating some outstanding achievements and members throughout the night.

As always, a big thank you to all our special guest and sponsors for donations of door prizes, the social committee especially Janelle Holding for all the work putting the evening together and our MC on the night, Andrew Leitch.

Service awards were given to the following members for:

A big congratulations to all award winners and thank you to all our members for both attending and for your efforts over the last year.

Good evening everyone, hope everyone had a good weekend.

This a cry out for help for SAMRC Summit series round 4, 18-19th July 2026 at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.

We are using the West circuit which always provides some good racing. On the program will be AU4's, formula vee, HQ's, improved production and others.

As always we are desperately looking for people to assist, for those who haven't been out for a while and want to do the supercars events this would be a great opportunity to get the cob webs out the system 😀

We have the SAMRC Round 2 this weekend 13th & 14th June, at The Bend, and are still in need of more people as we currently don't have enough to man the posts.
This event includes the 2026 ToughLift Excel Nationals event for the Excels, so will likely have two full grids for both Excel Masters and Excel Trophy series. That's over 50 cars in each category. As well, we have Improved Production, Aussie Racecars and Supersprint. So there should be some excellent racing to be had.

Our club doesn't function without our volunteers, those who pay their own fuel cost, accommodation, give up time with family to represent our club and be trackside at various events in all the extremes of weather from hot, cold, windy, rain and thunderstorms to help make motorsport safe and fair events for all involved. We do it for the love of the sport.

This week is volunteers week, its our opportunity to say a big thank you to all our members for your time and effort and for all you do for our club, without you we dont exist.
