Final News for Asperlutely Autsome Inc
Thank you for your support and contribution to the Asperlutely Autsome Inc. There have been a lot of changes since Asperlutely Autsome was formed to fill a gap in support and community activities for the autism community 12 years ago. This was before NDIS and there was a need for a space for families to connect and have opportunities to find a space of belonging and acceptance.
It has been an amazing, community led organisation, led by volunteers with lived experience. Some of our original aims have been achieved, and there are many more opportunities and support services, run by people now paid to deliver services. The board has now taken the decision to close Asperlutely Autsome Inc and thank everyone who has supported over the years, from the amazing turnout and membership at our first few AGM’s, through to those who have remained committed to ensuring Asperlutely Autsome is closed properly, and with the integrity such a loved organisation deserves.
We are all so proud of the community, support, connections and experiences that Asperlutely Autsome was able to offer, including the amazing memories that were made. We thank all those who supported our organisation, including Morialta Trust, Communities for Children in Playford and Onkaparinga, Aspire to Inspire, Fleurieu Philanthropy, the City of Onkaparinga, Steve Young’s family through the Forever Young fund, and all those who donated, provided services or venues at a discount or free, of whom there are too many to name.
Our final projects have been the handover of the Mix and Lego Club programs to Diverse Learning Pty Ltd to continue delivery thanks to Communities for Children, and distributing Forever Young funds to support young people in our community to achieve their goals. Many of our participating young people have gone on to pursue their interests in meaningful ways, including employment and we are immensely grateful for the privilege of having seen them grow into the amazing young adults they have become.
While our website is imminently closing, our page remains open for now and may be a good space to share any memories of our autsome activities and memories together.
Again, we thank you again for all you have each contributed to our community over the years. It has been Asperlutely Autsome.
The outgoing Asperlutely Autsome Board and community.
