The Marilyn's are a group of bold women (and men!) who take part in the Brighton Jetty Classic held on the first Sunday of each February, swimming around the Brighton Jetty - dressed as Marilyn Monroe, whilst raising vital funds for Cancer Council SA. Because by being a part of the Marilyn experience, you are joining forces with some of the bravest women (and men!) you’ll find. At the heart of eve
ry Marilyn is one common drive—to make a difference in the lives of people living with cancer. This group of bold, fabulous women (and men!) take part in the Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic, swimming or paddling 400 metres around the Brighton Jetty every February all dressed head to toe as our favourite ‘50s icon, Marilyn Monroe. And they do it all to raise much needed funds for vital cancer research, prevention and support programs. To date, our sea of blonde bombshells have raised an incredible $830,000 for South Australians impacted by cancer. There is more to the Marilyn Jetty Swim than the swim itself, but Darling, it’s all part
of the fun! Here’s the run-down of how being a Marilyn works:
1. Register - Sign up with the Marilyn Jetty Swim to make a real splash via
www.themarilyns.org. Choose to take the plunge and swim 400m around the
Brighton jetty or stay lovely and dry and show your support on the shore.
2. Become part of the sisterhood - Be bold, be brave, be fabulous–purchase your
swimsuit, swim ring and pop on your blonde wig and sunglasses and join
a unique sisterhood of women (and men!).
3. Raise funds - Benefit from expert fundraising support and have the opportunity to
win amazing prizes.
4. Make a difference - Every dollar raised will help Cancer Council SA invest in
ground-breaking cancer research, empower people to reduce their own risk with
prevention education and provide essential support to everyone affected by
cancer. The Marilyn Jetty Swim during the Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic occurs every year on the first Sunday of February - in 2023 it will be Sunday 5 February,
