On the 8th August, 40 Army Cadet Unit and Training Ship Noarlunga held their annual Dining In Night at the Morphett Vale RSL.

One of the few activities the Army and Navy Cadets do together to enhance our partnership.

A night of formality and social interaction, cadets and parents come together to share a meal and talk about what they have been up to while following a deep tradition of Dining In Nights.

Thanks to our Special guests The SA AAC BDE Commander, Colonel Horan. 40 Battalion Commander, MAJ(AAC) Joe Warren. Battalion CUO Hearn and Cadet RSM WO1 Rickards-Beach.

There were also promotions and awards presented. Congratulations to:

LCPL Bala
and to ex Cadet CUO Turner being presented the Unit Service Award for excellent conduct.

On Monday the 13th July our CSM, CDTSGT Ryan Penhale enlisted into the Australian Army.

LT(AAC) Luke Turner attended the swearing in ceremony on behalf of the unit.

Ryan was a very valued member of 40. Someone who went the extra mile helping develop the cadets and NCO’s of the unit. Highly organised and always thinking of solutions to any problem in the unit.

Ryan will be dearly missed but we wish him all the best with his career. We know he will do great. We look forward to having him visit in the future.

🌺 This ANZAC Day, 40ACU was proudly able to support two ANZAC Day Services across our local area.

The Blackwood Dawn Service and a Service In Aldinga at the War Memorial.

We assisted the Blackwood Service with a Catafalque Party and Flag Orderlies. At Aldinga the Catafalque Party was manned by members of 10th/27th Battalion - The Royal South Australia Regiment. Our Cadets acted as Flag Orderlies.

It is always a privilege for us to support the communities with the Dawn Services and keeping the ANZAC Spirit alive with our youth.
