Nothing escapes Wilma’s attention 👀🐨

While receiving her injection, Wilma the koala, kept a very close eye on the vet, carefully watching every move!

She was admitted to our clinic after presenting with a sore limb. As part of her assessment, our veterinary team monitored her climbing ability and carried out a range of diagnostic tests to help determine the cause of her discomfort.

For now, Wilma has headed into care where she can rest, recover and continue to be closely monitored.

Here is another image of Darcy (who was a recent patient to our vet clinic). She’s seen here before her ear tag and pre-release check - she is in great health and loves to bite, so her release will be in the coming weeks.
Be safe Darcy . ❤️🐨❤️

Gizmo the koala was found in a non eucalyptus tree and had been there for enough time for it to be a concern, so rescuers were called and Gizmo arrived at our vet clinic for a full assessment. Apart from being very hungry (an easy fix), he was found to be in good health, so released back to the wild. Be safe Gizmo 🐨❤️🐨

Wet koalas? We get calls about this more than you’d think! 🐨☔

Meet Bonnie. She looks a little worse for wear, but that’s not why she needed us.

Koalas have dense, water-resistant fur, and their hunched posture in the rain helps water run straight off their back. That soggy koala in your tree is almost certainly doing just fine.

If you spot a koala that concerns you, please contact your local koala rescue group. They are trained to assess whether a koala genuinely needs help, and they know exactly what to look for.

A wet koala in a tree is doing what koalas are built to do. A koala on the ground is a different story.

This little Brushtail possum is a patient who actually enjoys her medication! She is in care at our vet clinic as she has a few gut issues that need close veterinary attention. ❤️👍

Finn arrived at our Centre and quickly settled in with some fresh gum leaves on offer. During his veterinary assessment, our team identified a fractured clavicle.

A clavicle fracture can be painful and requires careful management, so Finn commenced pain relief and supportive treatment with our veterinary team. His progress with this sort of injury will take a bit of time to heal so he will be in care until he can be returned to the bush. Wildlife can sometimes appear calm and bright despite significant injuries, which is why prompt veterinary assessment is so important.

We’re very glad Finn made his way into care, and we’ll keep doing everything we can to help him heal. 🐨❤️🐨
