A different perspective on the coastline we call home.

From rugged cliffs and sandy beaches to shifting sandbars and coastal waters, South Australia's coastline is shaped by the constant interaction of land and sea.

These coastal environments are more than stunning landscapes. They support diverse marine ecosystems and play an important role in the health of our oceans.

At AusOcean, we're working to better understand and protect the marine environments beneath these beautiful waters.

Behind every AusOcean rig is a team working across design, assembly, testing and field deployment. Built as a low-cost platform for coastal ocean monitoring, each rig supports sensors and equipment used to collect data over long-term deployments.

A day out on the water with AusOcean 🌊

From loading up the boat and heading offshore to deploying our technology in the ocean, field days are where a lot of the work comes to life.

Every deployment gives us another opportunity to observe, collect data and better understand what’s happening beneath the surface. And, of course, there are always a few incredible moments along the way. 💙
