We raise funds and awareness for global health and aim to inspire, educate, and empower. Insight Global Health Group is the University of Adelaide’s Global Health Group founded in 2004. Insight aims to connect members to Global Health issues, and empower them through education, inspiration and hands on opportunities. Insight is a registered charity organization, and supports multiple sustainable h

ealth projects in Australia and across the globe including Maranatha Health Uganda, Cambodia World Family Project and Kopiam Hospital in Papua New Guinea, where medical and dental students are also able to spend their electives. 📣 Join Us for The Amazing Raise! 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

On Saturday, 1st August, INSIGHT is hosting its annual fundraising event, The Amazing Raise, to support dental and oral health student international outreach initiatives!

💡 Why We’re Fundraising

INSIGHT Global Health Group is passionate about providing dental and oral health students with opportunities to engage in meaningful international outreach work. These experiences enable students to develop clinical skills, cultural awareness, and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations with limited access to dental care. We’re raising funds to support our dental student volunteers on outreach trips and to assist partner clinics and organisations delivering dental care to those who need it most.

🎉 What is The Amazing Raise?

It’s an exhilarating race inspired by the TV show “The Amazing Race”! Teams of 4 will race across Adelaide, solving clues and completing challenges at various stops throughout the city to reach the finish line first.

✨ What an AMAZING day at the Amazing Raise 2025!

Our first team crossed the finish line in just 2 hrs 5 mins ⏱️ and completed 24 out of 25 side missions 🔥 making them both the race champions and the Side Mission winners 🎉

Along the way, teams stepped back into the Victorian era at Ayers House, showed off their sporting spirit at Adelaide Oval, faced the chaos of Overcooked in VR thanks to our friends at (huge thank you for hosting 🙌) and more!

This unforgettable day of challenges, laughs, and teamwork was all in support of Cambodia World Family 💛 helping provide dental care to vulnerable communities.

A massive thank you to our Dentistry Officer Lora for all her hard work organising the event, the sponsors, wonderful volunteers, and the incredible participants who made the race such a success. 🌟

Thank you to everyone who attended the Birthing Kit Workshop on the weekend! 👏

The event was a huge success as the first time this event was collaboration between multiple Flinders University and University of Adelaide student societies!

We had an inspiring introduction from Dr Preetam Ganu, Founder and Director of Full Circle Care Women’s Health Centre before we packed over 1200 birthing kits for mothers in developing countries where giving birth still carries major risks for maternal morbidity and mortality.

We then enjoyed lunch and fantastic live music with an opportunity to meet other students passionate about global health. 🎤

Thank you again to the Insight committee, Molly and Mia, PVOGSSA, Women in Health at Flinders, AMSA Sexual and Reproductive Health, and the Flinders Health and Human Rights Group for their hard work putting this incredible event together 💜
