FRIDAY FACT: Did you know?

The Adelaide Park Lands aren’t just green space – they’re a vital part of how students, workers and recreational cyclists get around our city.

Kadaltilla / Adelaide Park Lands Authority says the Park Lands provide around 59 kilometres of continuous walking and cycling paths, connecting major precincts through routes including the Adelaide Park Lands Trail and River Torrens Linear Park.

And there’s an economic benefit too. Walking and cycling in the Park Lands generates an estimated $196 million in annual economic value, through direct health, transport and environmental benefits.

As Bike Adelaide Chair David Elliott writes, safe, connected Park Lands paths are critical to cycling in Adelaide – and to keeping our city moving.

SOUTH RD: SHARED PATH DETOUR DISRUPTIONS
8pm Fri 28 August til 6am Mon 31 August.

Drainage and bridge construction works are required in Thebarton as part of the construction of the Northern Tunnels and motorway. As part of these works, there will be further temporary changes to the West Thebarton Road / Ashwin
Parade / South Road intersection required over the coming weekends.

There's some upgrades you should know about!

- King William Rd (Mike Turtur Bikeway) Streetscape Upgrades - new widened shared path enhancing access to the city. City of Unley works due to complete in the coming weeks!

- Peacock Rd Cycle Route - the bike lane and parking lane are switching places to make a separated bikeway! This links directly to the King William Rd Streetscape upgrades. works start Sunday 23 August until late October.

- Glen Osmond Rd Signalised Crossing - a new signlised bike and pedestrian crossing over Glen Osmond Rd to link the Frome St Bikeway and Rugby-Porter Bikeway! City of Adelaide works also due to start Sunday 23 August.

🚦🚧 NEW CROSSING - MORPHETT RD🚦🚧

Works will soon start on a new Pedestrian Actuated Crossing (PAC) on Morphett Rd. This new crossing replaces one of the same configuration before the grade separation project, and reinstates at-grade local movements along the bikeway corridor.

In receiving this update from the project team, Bike Adelaide requested a revised re-open date for the bikeway itself and a date is still not available. We continue to raise this at every opportunity to provide you accurate information about this vital cycling link.
