A last-minute change in SA Water's work program associated with the NWCH has necessitated the installation of the concrete barriers (that will close the south-bound bicycle lane on James Congdon Drive) earlier than anticipated, extending the duration this lane will be closed for by ~ 2 weeks. An updated works area map has been provided by SA Water.

🏁 Motor sport events in the Adelaide Park Lands — share your feedback! 📣

The South Australian Motor Sport Board (SAMSB) is currently consulting with people impacted by the 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final and Associated Motorsport Event.

As these events are managed under the South Australian Motor Sport Act 1984, they are organised by the SAMSB and do not require approval from the City of Adelaide.

The City of Adelaide will provide feedback to the SAMSB, including matters relating to environmental impacts, community access, land use and cumulative impacts on the Park Lands.

Community members are encouraged to provide feedback directly to the SAMSB by Monday 15 June 2026.

Here's an innovation from our southern neighbours.

The new Spring Farm Village shopping centre in Huntingfield south of Hobart includes a Bike Wash that’s big enough to fit a cargo bike.

The wash costs between $5 and $10 depending on time used and includes high/low pressures of rinse, soap, chain cleaning and blow dry.

**How about: active commuting is associated with a 30% lower risk of diabetes - with cycling giving a greater reduction than walking, probably due to higher intensity.
**You'd know this one: funding for cycling as a health prevention measure in the budget = $0.

"A throttle-only, pedal-less machine is legally classified as a motor vehicle and requires registration and a licence, like any petrol or battery-powered motorcycle. "

Not all e-bikes are e-bikes; many of the errant vehicles we see in the news are illegal and unregistered electric motorbikes, ridden by unlicenced riders.

With more and more throttle-only e-bikes around, it's time to start calling them what they are ... e-motorcycles

SA Infrastructure and Transport dept is now consulting on the level crossing removal/grade separation of the Gawler railway and Curtis Road, via a dual lane road overpass. We're seeing some shared paths on the concept (with very sharp bends, coz bikes don't have turning circles to go around corners - sigh) and some decent on/off ramps (hooray!) But what do you think?
