Last week we visited the team from Port Lincoln High School for their graduation ceremony from Exercise 3.

What made this ceremony even more special was that student Lachlan was presented with the prestigious Scott Hartmann Award - for outstanding leadership. An award deep in the Foundation's history.

For 35 years, Operation Flinders Foundation has been helping young people discover what they are capable of.

Since our first Exercise in 1991, more than 11,000 young people have travelled to the northern Flinders Ranges, stepping outside their comfort zones, taking on challenges and discovering strengths they may not have known they had.

What started as an idea to create a different path for young people has grown into a life-changing program centered on three powerful outcomes: Connection, Purpose and Resilience.

Karmen, Pam Murray-White's daughter shares her thoughts on the evolution of the Foundation, and what has importantly stayed the same!

I am so bloody excited to be hosting the Electric Blue Dance Party at the Woodville Town Hall on Friday, 7th August! We are talking a massive live DJ, tunes from across the decades, and a packed dance floor.

Exercise 3 starts today!

Since Thursday we have had a team of volunteers on Yankaninna Station setting up, distributing, sorting and getting the job done, all so the Exercise is ready to received the teams of young people arriving this week! 🥾

Thank you to the volunteers for their commitment and dedication. We can’t do it without you!

Wellbeing week to remember - 15 young people had the opportunity to get together at Nunyara Conference Centre to learn about different aspects of wellbeing. Next Steppers learned about wellbeing through healthy eating, resilience, wellbeing through movement by participating in Line Dancing with Tsepo from Quick Steps, orienteering through Belair National Park, and wellbeing through connecting to nature by supporting Trees for Life to remove weeds from a native plant revegetation site. Next Steppers also supported each other by sharing what works for their individual wellbeing.

A great time was had by all, and we are especially grateful to Wendy, Tsepo, Tamara, and Randall who came and spent time with us on top of their busy workdays!

This morning we welcomed back the Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders from the field. There were cheers a round as they walked through the gates of base camp. 👏🏻

The teams departed Yankaninna Station at the crack of dawn after 8 days on Exercise.

Tomorrow more teams head home after another fantastic few days!
