This first quarter of 2026 was filled with many joyful Wednesday nights.

From handicap baking, ABC scavenger hunt with Inferno, as well as rock designing and mini golf to name a few. In addition, we got to attend ANZAC Day march an netball, which is not just a highlight for the quarter and unit, but an amazing day for all rovers involved.

ANZAC Day 2026 🇦🇺

It was amazing to start to the day, seeing so many of our unit members help out at the Dawn Service and March. We are so proud of you, especially for the early start you all had.

Leading into the afternoon, Black Knight rovers took to the court for annual ANZAC Day Netball. We played hard as ever to win, while showing some great teamwork skills in every round. This year we came 3rd overall, which is a good outcome for all the players.

A massive thank you to the Kullari Rover Crew for running the event this year. In addition, congrats to everyone who went to both the march and the netball. All of your effort has paid off in the long run.

What an fun filled day for all the Black Knight members!

We would like give a massive congratulations to the 2025 recipient of Black Knight’s Daniel Heritage Rover of the Year Award….Teika Collins!

Teika has been a constant presence at Black Knight for the past two years and has been a valued member of the Black Knight executive team for the last year. Over this time, she has worked tirelessly managing communications, helping organise our new scarf badges, and consistently offering a helping hand wherever it’s needed. We are incredibly proud of Teika’s growth as a leader and the determination and commitment she continues to show.

The Daniel Heritage Rover of The Year Award is presented to a BK rover who like Daniel did, has shown immense growth in their character, leadership and dedication to the unit over the last 12 months, a member who emphatically embodies the ideals of scouting and has gone above and beyond usual expectations, who holds an exceptional passion for scouting and Black Knight.

Teika has continuously proven that she carries all of these attributes and we are so excited to see what Teika achieves next. Congratulations Teika!

Last week the unit was busy at work. On Monday we took to the lanes and battled Aurora in a bowling challenge. Fortunately our athletic prowess prevailed and we emerged victorious. Later that week we then headed to the Scouts Shouts Youth Theatre shed to help in the construction of the sets and items for their show next month!

A great week all around and a huge thanks to everyone for organising both nights!
