We were delighted to welcome members of our extended Lutheran family to our weekly staff devotion on Tuesday.

Lutheran Church of Australia Bishop Paul Smith, Lutheran Church of Australia - SA & NT District Bishop Andrew Brook, and LCANZ Assistant Bishop Stephen Schultz, who led an inspiring devotion, were among our guests.

Good friends from the LCANZ national office, SA-NT District office, Lutheran Education Australia, Lutheran Education SA, NT & WA, Australian Lutheran College and ALWS joined with LLL staff for a lovely morning of fellowship.

LLL CEO Karen Pienaar welcomed guests before Chief Relationship Officer Scott Ross shared an update on our activities.

The morning concluded with conversation over coffee and cake - a wonderful opportunity to connect with our Church leaders and colleagues to reflect on our shared mission.

Our CEO Karen Pienaar has continued a proud LLL tradition of gifting Private Communion Sets to new Lutheran pastors.

Since 1979, LLL has supported the mission and ministry of new pastors with the gift of a Communion Set that allows them to administer the Sacrament of Holy Communion to the sick or elderly who are unable to attend church.

Recently, Karen was honoured to present Communion Sets to Pastor Paul Ridley at a service at St Mark's Lutheran Church, Freeling SA, and Pastor David Lazarus at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ashmore Qld.

Pastor Paul was recently assigned to serve Light Lutheran Church that includes worship centres in Allens Creek, Bethel, Freeling, Kapunda and Rosedale in South Australia's Barossa Valley region.

All at LLL wish Pastor Paul and Pastor David every blessing in their new callings!

LLL NOTICE | We're back home! 🏠️

We were delighted to welcome Lutheran Church of Australia Assistant Bishop Stephen Schultz to our Archer Street offices in North Adelaide SA on Monday to bless our newly renovated workspace.

Over the past few months, our team has been operating from our 175a building next door while renovation works were completed. We're now back at 175 Archer Street and enjoying a refreshed environment designed to better support our staff, customers and visitors to Lutheran Tract Mission.

As part of this move, our Archer Street branch opening hours have changed slightly.

LLL SCAMS AWARENESS | AUSTRAC is Australia’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulator and financial intelligence unit.

Recently, AUSTRAC CEO Brendan Thomas wrote a letter to the banking sector following a growing number of reports involving scammers impersonating AUSTRAC and its staff.

Scammers are contacting individuals through phone calls, emails and messaging apps, often presenting forged documents and communications that appear legitimate.

Victims may be told they are under investigation for money laundering, tax offences or other financial crimes, that their accounts have been frozen, or that they must make an urgent payment to avoid penalties, prosecution or other adverse consequences.

🚩🚩 🚩 Please be assured that AUSTRAC DOES NOT contact members of the public unexpectedly demanding payment.

Any unexpected request for money, personal information or urgent action claiming to be from AUSTRAC should be treated with caution and independently verified through official AUSTRAC channels.

LLL PARTNERSHIPS | For hundreds of families in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, Endeavour College’s new Junior School will mean more than state-of-the-art classrooms; it will bring children from Reception to Year 12 together in one connected school community.

Endeavour’s bold vision is fast becoming a reality as construction progresses at its Mawson Lakes SA campus, with the Junior School to welcome students for the start of the 2027 school year.

The three-storey Junior School will have capacity for 378 students and feature 14 General Learning Areas (GLAs), STEM spaces, thoughtfully designed multi-purpose spaces for both school and community use, and a vibrant library/resource hub.

We are proud to walk together in partnership with Endeavour in support of this transformative project.

"It's been fantastic to partner with LLL, it's been easy from the school's point of view, it hasn't been something I've had to worry about,” Endeavour Principal Richard Baird said after he hosted a tour of the construction site for representatives from LLL and Lutheran Education SA, NT & WA.

"It's not just a transaction; we’re building a future and building a community, and LLL has understood that from the start.

We were honoured to welcome the General Secretary of The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Rev Dr Anne Burghardt, and LWF Regional Secretary for Asia Rev Dr Rospita Siahaan to our North Adelaide SA offices this week.

Dr Burghardt and Dr Siahaan visited our region as guests of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand and LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith.

LLL CEO Karen Pienaar, Board Director Geoff Thiel, and LLL executives were delighted to host an informative meeting.

“They were keen to understand what we do at LLL,” Karen said.

“And we learnt more about LWF’s global role and their strategic plan.

“A key element of that plan is enabling thriving churches, which is strongly aligned with our own strategic initiative of supporting communities to thrive.

“So, we had a really insightful and fruitful discussion about what that looks like.”

LLL SPONSORSHIP | Hundreds of walkers. Thousands of steps. One shared goal - helping protect refugee girls through the power of education. 💙

LLL proudly stepped out alongside our Platinum Partners Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) at Walk My Way events in Brisbane and Adelaide.

As Major Sponsor of the Brisbane event, LLL also matched donations made on the day, dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000, with the nearly 700 walkers raising more than $115,000.

LLL CEO Karen Pienaar stepped out in support of the Adelaide event that raised just over $40,000.

The funds support ALWS’ PRECIOUS campaign, which helps protect refugee girls in Kenya and Somalia from child marriage by enabling them to remain in school.

"What I love about Walk My Way is seeing our community come together around something that really matters,” ALWS Executive Director Michael Stolz said.

"I'd like to sincerely thank LLL Australia for their generous support of ALWS and events like Walk My Way Brisbane as our Platinum Partner.

“Their commitment to the mission of our Church is inspiring."
