💜 Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.

For 25 years, this day has brought communities together to remember those whose lives have been lost to overdose, acknowledge the grief of families and friends, and raise awareness of the support that can save and change lives.

At Centacare, our Youth Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Services support young people aged 12–24 with compassionate, non-judgemental care.

Today, we’re sharing our new Alban Place video – a reminder that sometimes taking the first step is the hardest part, but change is possible with the right support.

🚌 Taking community connection on the road!

Wandana Community Centre Manager Leah Howard recently joined the Community Centres SA Inc.'s Bus Tour, visiting community centres across metropolitan Adelaide to share ideas, learn from different approaches and see some fantastic community-led initiatives in action.

Attending on behalf of Wandana and as a Community Centres SA Board Member, Leah came away inspired by the people, creativity and commitment behind these important community spaces.

A big thank you to Community Centres SA and the centres that opened their doors and generously shared their knowledge. 💛

👏 A great night celebrating some fantastic work happening across our community!

Centacare was pleased to join friends and sector colleagues at the Adelaide PHN 2026 Health Equity Awards, celebrating organisations making a real difference to the health and wellbeing of South Australians.

A special congratulations to Statewide Eating Disorder Service (SEDS) and Streetlink Plus Primary Health Clinic – two award recipients whose work connects closely with our own services and partnerships in eating disorder support and homelessness. 💛

It was also great to catch up with Kirsty Degabriele and Deepak Dev from Adelaide PHN, who work closely with our teams to support better mental health outcomes across our community.

Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients – very well deserved! 👏
