Please join us to celebrate the role of Women in the Air Force and in particular, those pioneers who served as WAAAFs in WW2 or WRAAFs post war who forged the basis for the employment of women in subsequent generations.

Marking Key WAAAF / WRAAF Anniversaries with International Women’s Day

Noting that the 8 March is International Women’s Day and that this year is the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Women’s Auxilliary Australian Air Force and the 75th Anniversary of the formation of the Women’s Royal Australian Air Force, AFA-SA will be partnering with the Combined Ex-Services Mess in conducting a small wreath laying ceremony at the Air Force Memorial, Torrens Parade Ground, on Wednesday 18 March 26 at 11:30 prior to the Mess lunch where we have a speaker and will acknowledge the WAAAF.

Attendees are welcome to join us in the Combined Ex-Services mess for the Monthly CESM Veterans Lunch thereafter in the CESM from 1200 – 1430hrs.
Please note: Lunch places are limited. Menu choices to be finalised by Friday 13th March for catering purposes and please bring CASH for the lunch and raffle.
Card and cash available for drinks purchases.
