Trojans Trek

Trojans Trek Trojan's Trek is a vehicle-led, peer-supported, and wilderness-based program. Trojan’s trek is a circuit breaker program in nature.

We offer the opportunity to reflect, explore, and discover purpose and identity through curiosity. Participants figuratively undertake a journey, which facilitates new ways of viewing themselves, their colleagues and partners in a remote location while investigating ways to facilitate change. Treks are run in Millmerran Queesland, and the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. The trek caters for up

to 20 participants. Trojan's Trek is open to all Defence, Police and Emergency Service Workers and Veterans. We transport participants from Adelaide or Brisbane and will discuss with you funding options if coming from interstate. The course will utilise the remote environment combined with team and individual analysis assisted by skilled leaders. Some nights will be spent in the bush in relatively rough conditions. The program is delivered by Defence, Police and Emergency Service Veterans who have faced and overcome the challenges of 'the job', service and transition. Our team welcome the opportunity to speak with you regarding your participation on the trek.

Trojans Trek is heading back to the Kokoda Track in 2027 in partnership with South Sea Horizons Australasia.

We’ll be trekking from 21–30 April, meaning we’ll be on the track for ANZAC Day, an experience that will no doubt be incredibly meaningful for everyone involved. We’re also working on something very special with the local communities along the track, but we’ll keep that under wraps for now. Let's just say it will be something you'll remember for years to come.

As with our previous Kokoda events, this trek is also a fundraiser, with all funds raised going directly back into delivering programs and events for veterans and emergency service personnel here in Australia.

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors and partner organisations, all flights and trekking costs will be covered for participants. The only expenses participants will need to cover are:
PNG visa
Kokoda travel insurance
Passport (if it needs updating)
Personal spending money

This event would not be possible without the organisations that have stepped up to support the mission. A huge thank you to Soul Medicine VAR, WorkSec - Trusted Workforce / Clearance Sponsorship & Governance and ArmaTech

We also have two more organisations coming on board, and one sponsorship opportunity is still available for any organisation interested in supporting this initiative. If you are interested, please reach out to [email protected]

If you’d like to be part of this incredible experience, please complete the EOI via the link https://forms.monday.com/forms/e9900837e706a2c766d2183a334bd7ca?r=apse2

The final team will be announced on 1 July.

Just over a week ago, our team from Trojans Trek had the privilege of attending the Defence Connect event in Sydney.

We’re incredibly honoured to have been recognised across multiple categories, taking home two awards from the three in which we were finalists. This video captures the moment we were awarded Best Wellness and Health Program, with Julie Hall presenting on behalf of Defence Kidz.

A sincere thank you to the other outstanding finalists, JVAT, Soldier On Australia, and the Department for Correctional Services. It’s a privilege to stand alongside organisations doing such meaningful work in this space.

We’re grateful for the recognition and remain committed to continuing our mission of supporting the recovery and wellbeing of those who serve and have served.

ANZAC Day isn’t just about history. It’s about people.

Not the version carved into stone or wrapped in ceremony, but the real ones. Young, scared, brave, flawed. People who didn’t all agree, didn’t all come from the same backgrounds, didn’t all think the same way, but stood side by side anyway.

That’s the part worth remembering.

Because somewhere along the way, we started thinking unity means sameness. It doesn’t. It never did. The ANZAC story was built on difference, different states, different beliefs, different lives, held together by something deeper, loyalty, mateship, and a quiet understanding that no one gets through this alone.

Today isn’t about glorifying war. It’s about recognising sacrifice, and not just the kind that happens on a battlefield. It’s the kind that shows up in everyday life too, looking out for each other, carrying someone when they’re struggling, choosing connection over division.

If there’s anything worth taking forward, it’s this. We don’t need to be the same to stand together.

So today, whether you’re remembering someone, reflecting quietly, or just trying to make sense of it all, take a moment to check in on the people around you.

That’s where the spirit lives now.

Lest we forget.

Last night was a significant moment for Trojans Trek at the Defence and National Security Workforce Awards.

We’re incredibly humbled to have been recognised for three categories and to have won two of them, the Best Wellness and Health Program and Best Reservist/Volunteer Program.

While these awards mean a great deal, they represent something much bigger than a single evening. They reflect years of consistent effort from a committed team and the vision Moose Dunlop set in motion back in 2009 to support people early, before challenges grow into something far more difficult.

What started as an idea has evolved into a program focused on proactive, meaningful support that genuinely makes a difference.

We’re proud of how far this has come, but we’re equally aware there’s more work to do, and that’s what keeps us moving forward.

Tim Keeffe and Daniel Vincent spent Monday morning attending the roofing event for the new Legacy Brisbane hub, an exciting milestone for Queensland's veteran community.

It was a valuable opportunity to connect with Brendan Cox and Lloyd Harris to discuss future directions and potential partnerships. They also had the chance to catch up with Janelle Poole APM MP, to explore plans to support veterans across Queensland.

Thank you to Brendan Cox for the invitation to be part of this memorable moment.

What a moment. 🙏
It was an honour to present Rodney Martin from GO2 Health with his prize from our Kokoda Track fundraising auction — and an enormous thank you to Daniel Keighran VC for donating something truly extraordinary: his own personal slouch hat, autographed by three Victoria Cross recipients.
Together, we raised more than $139,000 for our Kokoda Campaign — directly changing the lives of veterans and first responders. 💚
None of it happens without people like you. Thank you.
