Scooters - including push scooters and e-scooters are a fun and popular way for children and adults to get around. However, falls can lead to painful friction burns, even without a collision.

If an adult or child sustains a burn injury, remember: 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸.

• 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 clothing and jewellery from the affected area.
• 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 the burn under cool running water for 𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 as soon as possible.
• 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 the burn with a clean, non-stick dressing or cloth.
• 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸 medical advice if needed.

We are incredibly grateful to the Independent Gaming Corporation (IGC) through Pubs with Heart for their generous support, which has enabled us to purchase a brand-new Mazda CX-3 for our team.

This vehicle will help us travel across South Australia, delivering vital child safety education, playground safety services, and injury prevention programs that help keep children safe at home, on the road, and at play.

Yesterday, we were thrilled to take possession of the vehicle and celebrate the difference this support will make to our work and the families and communities we serve.

Hot food and drinks are the most common cause of burns and scalds in children.

Help reduce the risk by practising these simple safety steps at home:
• Keep all hot drinks and foods well out of children’s reach.
• Never hold a baby or young child while drinking a hot beverage.
• Use reusable travel mugs with secure lids, as the smaller opening can reduce the risk of spills and serious burns.

Safe sleep science is continuing to evolve, and a new Australian standard is helping make infant sleep products even safer 🤍

The new AS 5407.3 standard introduces testing for CO₂ rebreathing in infant sleep products.

This means products can now be tested to see whether exhaled air is able to disperse safely, helping reduce the risk of rebreathing.

Importantly:
This does NOT replace the safe sleep advice parents already know and trust.
The safe sleep foundations still matter:
• Back sleeping
• Firm, flat mattress
• Clear cot
• Face uncovered

This new standard is an additional layer of protection designed to support safer sleep environments for babies.

“Has this product been tested for rebreathing?”
