Dear Community Members,
As you may be aware, white supremacist rallies have been planned across Australia, including here in Adelaide, on Sunday, 31 August 2025. These rallies target visible migrant communities, and it is important that we all remain vigilant and prioritise our safety.
I strongly urge all members of our community to:
Avoid protest areas and take alternative routes for travel.
Do not engage with protestors under any circumstance. If you find yourself near a protest, leave calmly and quickly.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by staying in safe public spaces and keeping children and vulnerable people away from potential risks.
Look out for one another β travel in groups when possible and check in on friends, family, and community members who may feel unsafe.
Most importantly, let us remember this: we belong here. As Kenyans living in Australia, we have every right to be here, to contribute, to thrive, and to live without fear. These events, while disturbing, should not dampen our spirits or shake our sense of belonging.
If you witness or experience racism:
Call 000 in an emergency.
Offer support to anyone being targeted.
Record incidents safely and report through www.racismregister.org
Let us stand together, stay safe, and continue to uplift one another.
Warm regards,
John Kamau
President
