A few days ago, I had the great pleasure of catching up with the awesome team of firefighters at Port Adelaide Fire Station.

It was fantastic to get a tour of the station and learn more about how this team helps keep our community safe every single day. From Port Adelaide to Garden Island, West Lakes, Alberton, Semaphore and everything in between, when you call the fire brigade these are the great people who come to the rescue.

A big thank you to Matt, Ross, Andrew and Tom for taking the time to show me around and chat about the important work they do in our community.

These are the humans behind firefighting in our region. Brave people who put themselves in danger to help protect lives, homes and families. šŸš’

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. šŸ’

Also my thoughts go out to all the mothers out there who sadly may have lost children, or any children that have lost their mums. Days like today can be really tough for a lot of people.

Cherish this day and cherish your mums. ā¤ļø

UPDATE: ā€œYou can’t park here.ā€

Almost two weeks ago I shared my experience at Adelaide Airport after being denied access to the disability pick up area.

Since then, Adelaide Airport has apologised and I’ve met with airport staff to discuss the situation further.

Sadly, people with disabilities know that once the headlines disappear, many issues often go back to normal.

That’s why I’ve now lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission in the hope we see real policy change.

If you’d like to see airports do better for people with disabilities, SHARE this video.

Together, let’s keep pushing for a society where people with disabilities feel included, respected and able to access the world equally, just like everyone else.

Over one year ago I started volunteering with the Port Adelaide Enfield Council and honestly, my biggest regret is not starting sooner.

Over the summer I had the chance to welcome cruise ship visitors arriving into Port Adelaide, helping people discover our amazing region, jump on the Port Adelaide Enfield shuttle bus, and explore everything the area has to offer.

One of the things I love most about volunteering is the people you meet along the way. At today’s event I had some fantastic conversations and was honestly blown away hearing just how many volunteer hours people in our community contribute every single year. There were volunteer roles people spoke about today that I did not even know existed.

It really reminded me how much of our community runs because people quietly give up their time to help others.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you and great work to all the volunteers out there contributing to our society, and also to all the people behind the scenes supporting volunteers to do what they do in the community.

Are you a volunteer or looking to become a volunteer?

Discrimination at its best.

A disability pickup zone… where I can’t get picked up.

My mum was told she’d be fined.

So where am I meant to go?

SHARE this if you think Adelaide Airport needs to get their s**t together.

160,000 people to be chopped out of the NDIS.

Mark Butler has announced major changes, with participants set to be reassessed to stay on it.

What does this actually mean in real life? Today I’m hearing from people affected.

This building meant everything to this man… now he sees it brought back to life.

Over the last six months I’ve been bringing this beautiful old building back from what it was into something truly special.

From restoring the original stonework and reviving 100 year old jarrah floorboards, to completely refurbishing the bathrooms, every part of this space has had attention.

This isn’t just a renovation, it’s a revival of a building filled with history, now ready for a whole new purpose.

In this video I meet with Stan Quin, who owned this building for many years, and I get to see his reaction as he rolls back through and sees it fully brought back to life.
