Walk the Yorkes for Charity

Walk the Yorkes for Charity In 2022 new and old friends went on their first annual event walking 67km from Pt Hughes to Pt Vict

Walk the Yorkes for Charity started as a group of friends with a big idea – to challenge ourselves while making a difference. Each May, we take on the stunning yet demanding Walk the Yorkes trail, covering around 65 km in just 2 days. Every step is for registered charities close to our hearts, turning blisters into blessings. 💛

We have touched on Keran's journey before, watching her step it out on Friday was inspiring. We are so proud of what she achieved on the weekend. We wish her a fabulous Birthday and 21km Marathon in Noosa this weekend!!

Imagine walking 28km in a day.
Now imagine doing it on crutches with one leg.

Despite cancer, heartbreaking trauma and being told more than once she wouldn’t survive, Keran Villis keeps finding a way forward, one step at a time.

Her story is something else >>> https://greatersa.com.au/keran-villis-walk-the-yorke/

🌟 Stansbury Community Generosity 🌟

At our end‑of‑event celebrations at Watsacowie, Matt caught up with the wonderful Colleen Burke from the Stansbury Post Office — and we were honoured to receive a Stansbury Community Award, nominated by Tracy and David Millard from the Stansbury Holiday Motell.

The Stansbury community has donated $500, raised through the Post Office donation book stand, to support our work with Backpacks 4 SA Kids, Anchor Packs for teens, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service SA & NT Southern Yorke Peninsula Support Group.

Colleen shared a heartfelt message recognising the impact of Walk the Yorkes and the difference these funds make for SA kids, teens and families across regional communities.

We’re incredibly grateful for this support — it fuels our purpose and strengthens every step of the 53km Hardwicke Bay to Port Victoria challenge.

💛 Thank you, Stansbury. Your community spirit is something special.

Another thank you to local YE OLDE CAFE for having the crew for breakfast 🥓🍳☕️Sunday.
Fabulous coffee and service - thank you for sharing our event information with others too. Having posters and collection tins across the Yorkes has helped to spread the word of our crazy crew and their fundraising. 😀
