What a fabulous way to spend a rainy afternoon! ☔️🤩

Thank you to all who attended the All Together As One Concert today, and a special thanks to all our talented performers - especially our brilliant pop up choir!

We are so grateful to have had the talent of Dr Jamie Webster, who pulled this concert all together with about 4 weeks notice. Thank you Jamie ❤️🙏

Our Pop-Up Choir needs you!

A Pop Up Choir is a special, low commitment opportunity to learn new songs, grow in your singing skills, and take part in a special one-off performance.

Our Pop Up Choir will be performing a short set (around 20-30 minutes) at Unley Uniting Church on August 9th, at 4:30pm, as part of Together As One: A Celebration in Song, a free concert celebrating multicultural folk, traditional, and spiritual music in Adelaide.

We encourage everyone, seasoned singers or total newbies, to join in - no auditions required, just turn up to rehearsal ready to have a go! We have four rehearsals, plus a dress rehearsal on the day of the event at 3pm.

To ensure we're all organised, a minimum attendance of at least two rehearsals (as well as the dress rehearsal) is mandatory, though we encourage you to attend all four.

To sign up, follow the link here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1QBa_PQM2pupvl95-sxOu_a0YL-wtOmZi39BdM98yv2A/edit

Our Pop Up Choir is being led by the fabulous Dr Jamie Lynn Webster. Jamie holds a PhD in musicology and ethnomusicology from the University of Oregon, and is an experienced musician who has a passion for helping people and institutions tell their story through music. We are very grateful to have her visiting us from the USA, and sharing with us both her musical talents and vast collection of sheet music!

For any questions or queries about the rehearsals and the event, please contact Emelia at [email protected]

Thank you to everyone who came to the history month event with Unley Allies with First Nations People - we were privileged to hear the stories of Ian Seymour and Allen Edwards in their documentary, as well as learn about the continuing legacy of David Mowaljarlai from Jonathan and Janeen Barker. Special thanks to Wakefield Press for bringing a variety of books along, and for our volunteers from Unley Uniting Church and Unley Allies who organised afternoon tea 🖤💛❤️
