South Australian Coast Guard Awards Luncheon held today at CYCSA, great to see so many fellow members and flotillas receives justly awards for the efforts and service.
SAF-06 especially were rewarded for the following:
Most Efficient Flotilla 2026,
Meritorious Service Awards for Fundraising to Michael Kennedy and Bud Duncan
Newman Shield for Boatmans of the Year to our Commander Sheldon Bailey ...
Meritorious Service Award for Administration to Nicholas Dexter-Tissington

Crew induction for a new member this weekend, the crew took out CG06 for a run of the coastline, drills, theory and practicals.. welcome aboard Gary.

Monthly meeting last night to discuss all matters coastguard for lonsdale at saf-06.. celebrating a few of our members gaining their Ship Saftey Certs!! Well done guys! Happy boating.

Nominate a trained volunteer for this year’s Australian Search and Rescue Awards.

The Professional Volunteer category recognises individuals and organisations who are trained in search and rescue and contribute their time and skills on a voluntary basis.

Many responses rely on volunteers working alongside paid responders, bringing professional capability to complex and high‑risk situations.

These contributions are essential to delivering effective search and rescue outcomes.

Now is the time to nominate individuals and organisations involved in trained-volunteer marine and land search and rescue.

Nominations close 15 July 2026.

CG06 crew out on duty today, here for boating safety. 🚤
Took the opportunity to complete some refresher drills and give the engines a run to keep everything ready for the next call-out. Staying prepared so we're ready when the community needs us. ⚓️
