Joeys, Cubs and Scouts did an amazing job running the Paw Prints stall and our drink and cake stall. You should all be very proud of how hard you worked. Thankyou to those parents who donated items or helped out on the day.
A big thankyou also to Koala, Luke, Kaa, Leyland, Heysen, Greg and the Scouts for helping the Community Centre with the setting up and packing away.

As a parent, you want the best for your child – to help them grow, learn, and make unforgettable memories. That’s why we believe that sending your child to an Australian Scout Jamboree is an experience like no other. These events provide an opportunity for your child to build their confidence, make new friends, and learn new skills that will stay with them for life.

At an Australian Scout Jamboree, your child will have the chance to take part in a wide range of activities that challenge them physically and mentally. They will be able to try their hand at rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, archery, and many more exciting activities, all while being surrounded by a supportive and inclusive community of fellow scouts. They will also have the chance to learn new skills, from cooking to first aid, that will help them become more self-sufficient and independent.

But the benefits of an Australian Scout Jamboree go beyond just having fun and learning new skills. These events provide a unique opportunity for your child to connect with other young people from all over Australia, and even from around the world. They will be able to make new friends, learn about different cultures, and develop a sense of community and belonging that will stay with them for life.

In addition to all of this, sending your child to an Australian Scout Jamboree is also a safe and secure experience. Great care is taken to ensure the safety of all participants, with strict protocols in place to manage any potential risks. Your child will be under the supervision of trained and experienced Leaders at all times, and will have access to medical facilities if needed.

Scouting was founded by Lord Robert Baden-Powell. In 1907 Baden-Powell conducted an experimental camp on Brownsea Island off the Dorset coast of the UK. With some 20 boys from all walks of life and suitable adult leaders, Baden-Powell taught the boys what he meant by Scouting. They lived in tents, cooked their own food and learnt many valuable skills through games. This camp was held on 1st August 1907.

The 1st August is regarded as the anniversary of the birth of Scouting. Join us in commemorating this anniversary tomorrow by wearing your neckie/scarf.
