The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) has been an integral part of the South Australian community since 1884. Providing assistance throughout metropolitan and regional SA, Vinnies is committed to assisting people experiencing disadvantage with a hand up through a focus on food, clothing and shelter. Supported by 2,500 volunteers, Vinnies’ key service is its unique Vinnies Assistance program, which p

Support offered through this service includes food, clothing, furniture and emergency financial assistance, with around 50,000 South Australians supported each year. Vinnies’ other services include the iconic Fred’s Vans, providing 40,000 meals from 10 locations across the State; 24-hour crisis accommodation for men, women and children; the Open Door program which takes a preventative approach to homelessness; and the Vinnies Refugee & Asylum Seeker Service which assists asylum seekers and refugees who have fled war, persecution and significant injustice. The good works of Vinnies are supported by donations from the community and corporate partners, together with sales from Vinnies shops. There are currently 34 shops across SA providing quality and vintage second hand clothing, homewares and accessories.
