The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) has been an integral part of the South Australian community since 1884. Providing assistance throughout metropolitan and regional SA, Vinnies is committed to assisting people experiencing disadvantage with a hand up through a focus on food, clothing and shelter. Supported by 2,500 volunteers, Vinnies’ key service is its unique Vinnies Assistance program, which p

rovides compassionate support to people in their homes or through Vinnies centres across the State. Support offered through this service includes food, clothing, furniture and emergency financial assistance, with around 50,000 South Australians supported each year. Vinnies’ other services include the iconic Fred’s Vans, providing 40,000 meals from 10 locations across the State; 24-hour crisis accommodation for men, women and children; the Open Door program which takes a preventative approach to homelessness; and the Vinnies Refugee & Asylum Seeker Service which assists asylum seekers and refugees who have fled war, persecution and significant injustice. The good works of Vinnies are supported by donations from the community and corporate partners, together with sales from Vinnies shops. There are currently 34 shops across SA providing quality and vintage second hand clothing, homewares and accessories. Along with practical support, Vinnies offers a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to supporting people in need, and we advocate on behalf of those who do not have a voice on issues such as the need for more affordable housing; the inadequacy of social security payments; refugee and asylum seeker policy and more

Our stores are gearing up for ANZAC Day and our teams across the state love to show that they are remembering the sacrifice made by our servicemen and women.

How gorgeous is this display, which has been lovingly put together by Janine and the team at Vinnies Gawler?

If you see any beautiful ANZAC Day displays across the state, please let us know - and if you're one of our amazing Vinnies SA team that has your own display, please post and let us know.

Lest we forget. ❤️🌺

Please note that while we will remember, our stores will be respectfully closed on ANZAC Day itself, this Saturday 25 April.

Did you make it down to Life FM Adelaide Op Till You Drop second-hand market on Saturday? 👀🛍️

The Vinnies SA stall was buzzing from the moment doors opened, with keen thrifters diving in for some amazing finds!

Every purchase didn’t just score a bargain; it also helped support our vital services for people doing it tough across South Australia. 💙

A huge thank you to Life FM for putting on such a fantastic event, we loved being part of it!

And a special shoutout to our incredible team: Olivia, Lyly, Hannah, Samantha, Lilli and Janine, who kept the racks full and smiles bright all day long ✨

We can’t wait to do it all again (and hopefully meet some new faces too!) at the next event!

Did you find a hidden treasure at the Vinnies stall? 👇

Did you know that when you donate items to our Vinnies stores, we sometimes give them directly to people in need and don't actually sell them in our shops?

With winter rolling in and the nights getting colder, that's especially true for pillows and blankets.

Because we're currently running low on these essential items, today we're appealing for donations of clean, dry - ideally new or unused - blankets, pillows or sleeping bags at any of our Vinnies shops.

Remember, at Vinnies we treat everyone with dignity and respect, so if you're in position to donate, please do ensure all items are new - or as good as new - and thoroughly washed and dried.

Thank you for your support. 💙💙

This Easter, we reflect on the power of hope and renewal.
At Vinnies, these values guide our work every day as we walk alongside people through life’s challenges - offering support, dignity, and the belief that brighter days are possible.
As we mark this season of new beginnings, we hold close those in our community who are experiencing hardship.
Whether you're celebrating Easter or simply taking time to reflect, may you find renewal, purpose, and connection in the people around you.
From all of us at Vinnies, we wish you a safe and hope-filled Easter.
Please note that our Vinnies shop vollies are having a break this long weekend.
We look forward to seeing you all again on Tuesday.

What an amazing launch event we just had this morning at Adelaide Zoo for the Vinnies SA CEO Sleepout 2026.

Thank you to Zoos South Australia CEO Phil Ainsley, our Vinnies SA CEO Clinton Jury, our CEO Sleepout Ambassadors Fiona Endacott, Andrew Sullivan, Paul Kitching and Amelia Veale for your support.

Southern Cross and 7NEWS were with us to capture some great moments with the Giant Pandas as our team raised awareness of the aims of the Vinnies SA CEO Sleepout.

Every cent raised at the CEO Sleepout on Thursday 18 June at Adelaide Zoo stays in South Australia to help some of our most vulnerable community members.

If you're a South Australian leader with a heart for social impact, please consider signing up for the CEO Sleepout at: https://lnkd.in/grusX3r

Thanks also to the Zoos SA team of Brendan Kilpatrick, Nicole Pilkington and Simon Cross for all of your assistance and support. 💙

Vinnies SA is really grateful to Chrysos Corporation for the donation of six brand new computers to help us support people in need in South Australia.

The computers were donated after we responded to an EOI from Chrysos for community impact organisations to get in touch if they would benefit from some new hardware.

Chrysos are advocates in the social services space and were pleased to support our work by making the donation.

Pictured, is our ICT Operations Specialist Michael, who went along to Chrysos to pick up the devices from Chrysos Supply Chain Manager David.

Thanks to Chrysos for their support, and also to David and Leena, who helped make the donation happen.
