Stradbroke Scout Group View the fun, adventurous, challenging & inclusive activities our youth & adults do at Stradbroke!

Stradbroke Scout Group is a well-established scouting community, set in the Adelaide Foothills, offering youth opportunities to develop lifelong skills in the Joey, Cub, Scout and Venturer age sections. As a voluntary organisation we also welcome adults to join as Adult Helpers, Leaders of Youth and Support Committee Members. There are multiple benefits for both youth and adults of joining this gl

obal movement that has over 57million members across 173 National Scout Organisations and been empowering young people for over 100 years. Scouts SA is an independent branch of Scouts Australia, part of the World Scout Movement, with a common purpose to contribute to the development of young people by helping them learn and grow, and to play a constructive role in a global society. The purpose of the Scout Movement is to contribute to the education of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. Scouting is more than just a place for young people to have fun. “Creating a Better World” and “Education for Life” are common phrases connected to Scouting. As a global voluntary, non-political, educational movement of young people, supported by adults, it is open to, and inclusive of all.

Scouting is not just weekly Unit meetings. Adventurous activity teams run weekend activities that can really challenge and push youth out of their comfort zones.

At Stradbroke we have Leaders who are members of the Paddling team to support our youth even more.

The more you put into scouting the more you get out of it- youth and adults.

Scouts are famous for adventure. Camping under the stars, exploring the outdoors and discovering places you've never been before.

But that's only the beginning.

From scaling rock faces and exploring hidden caves to hitting the mark in target sports, cycling with friends, scuba diving beneath the surface and racing across open spaces in land yachts, there's an adventure waiting for everyone.

Every activity builds confidence, resilience and lifelong friendships, while creating memories that last a lifetime.

See why thousands of young people love Scouts SA. Click the link below to explore our outdoor adventure activities and start your next adventure today.

Happy World Scout Day! 🌏⚜️

Today, Scouts across Australia join millions around the world in celebrating the founding of the Scout Movement — a movement that has inspired young people to lead, serve and make a positive difference for more than a century.

As we celebrate, we also extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated Leaders and adult volunteers whose passion, encouragement and commitment help make these opportunities possible for so many young people.

Group Camp 2026
This Group camp all sections were represented for a 2 night camp at Woodhouse.
The mission was to help King Dino 🦖 get to safety by building them a stretcher, shelter and bridge to get to safety. Many skills- first aid, bushcraft, pioneering, team work and leadership were all used in this epic multi section mission!
Scouts also challenged themselves on Challenge Hill, map reading and bouldering.
The camp ⛺️ was not complete without our annual youth vs adult tug of war!! This year won by the Youth!! 💪🏼😎

None of this could have happened without the dedication from our team of volunteers. 🤩🤩

Scouts are building a better world.

Our members and volunteers work together to improve the environment, strengthen local communities, and support those who need it most.

We are inspired by our founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell and his wisdom: "Try and leave this world a little better than you found it."
