Eligible award beneficiaries include current, new and past outstanding SA practitioners, groups / teams, students, researchers, historians, volunteers and other individuals who previously or currently work, volunteer or study in the above focus practice areas, and who meet the award eligibility criteria and purpose. This includes quiet achievers and those who go the extra mile, whose outstanding service deserves recognition. The award provides a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and showcase the best and brightest professionals in the industry; fund small initiatives; and help shine a light on collections, management practices and solutions in the above focus areas which contribute to local, regional or State memory or culture. Established in honour of the late Bernadette Bean, this prestigious Award recognises eligible individuals and teams who demonstrate dedication, leadership, service excellence, and innovation in:
• Records, information and knowledge management
• Archives management
• Library, history, museum and cultural heritage collections management.

The Award celebrates those making a meaningful impact in areas such as:
✅ Strengthening governance, management, preservation, digitisation and digital access frameworks, policies and practices.
✅ Advancing technologies and digital transformation including ECM, EDRMS, imaging, archives and collection management systems, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions.
✅ Leading change, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, sharing knowledge, building capability, mentoring others, managing projects, conducting research, and contributing to organisational, community, regional or sector-wide improvement.

Nominations are welcomed from eligible practitioners at all career stages — including emerging professionals, established leaders, quiet achievers, effective teams, volunteers, promising students, retired professionals, researchers, and dedicated professionals across records and information, knowledge, archives, libraries, history, museums, and cultural heritage collections management fields.
