Welcome to the Bernadette Bean South Australian (SA) Records Management Service Excellence Award page. The award recognises and celebrates demonstrated records, information and archives management service excellence in honour of the late Bernadette Bean. This includes a focus on best practice and improvement in the areas of records and information management; archives management; knowledg

e management; and history, cultural heritage, museum and library collections management. Eligible award beneficiaries include current, new and past outstanding SA practitioners, groups / teams, students, researchers, historians, volunteers and other individuals who previously or currently work, volunteer or study in the above focus practice areas, and who meet the award eligibility criteria and purpose. This includes quiet achievers and those who go the extra mile, whose outstanding service deserves recognition. The award provides a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and showcase the best and brightest professionals in the industry; fund small initiatives; and help shine a light on collections, management practices and solutions in the above focus areas which contribute to local, regional or State memory or culture. Established in honour of the late Bernadette Bean, this prestigious Award recognises eligible individuals and teams who demonstrate dedication, leadership, service excellence, and innovation in:
• Records, information and knowledge management
• Archives management
• Library, history, museum and cultural heritage collections management.

The Award celebrates those making a meaningful impact in areas such as:
✅ Strengthening governance, management, preservation, digitisation and digital access frameworks, policies and practices.
✅ Advancing technologies and digital transformation including ECM, EDRMS, imaging, archives and collection management systems, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions.
