This is what a Toastmasters meeting actually is. A room of people who were all nervous the first time, and turned up anyway.

Thursday 27 August. Arrive 5:50pm for a 6pm start, finishing at 8pm. Oasis Common Room, Flinders University, Bedford Park.

Visiting is free and there's no pressure to speak. Come as many times as you like, and bring a friend.

JFK may or may not have been a Toastmaster, but he had a good point about acts of service. That's why Flinders University Toastmasters is holding club elections this week! All Toastmasters clubs run on volunteer power, and if you're a member, being on the executive is a chance to give back, step up, and help shape the supportive, welcoming space that helps us all grow!

If you're a guest, we're still running a typical meeting with the great speaking you've come to expect, so join us tomorrow night, 6–8pm. Whether you’re nominating, voting, observing, or visiting as a guest, you’re very welcome to be part of it 🙂

Anyone can speak words but real exchange happens when we learn to connect - not only with our audience, but with ourselves. At Flinders University Toastmasters, that’s what we strive to do each fortnight. It's our goal to go beyond the script and to speak with authenticity, empathy, and confidence.

While some people might be born with an affinity for public speaking, lets be real - most of us have it thrust upon us. The question is: are you brave enough to persist and become great?

At Flinders University Toastmasters, we believe confidence grows through consistent effort and persistence, and that progress comes from showing up, practising, and sticking with it, even when it feels uncomfortable.
