Where: The march will go from Victoria Square to Victoria Park
When: Sunday 23 August, 12.00- 2.00PM .
Meet under the Victoria Square flagpoles at 12 noon. Look out for the Green Pakapakanthi/ SECRA banner.

Bird Flu.
H5N1 is becoming well established in Australia. Australia's isolation has made us the last continent on Earth to be affected. Now that it is here, you can help. If you find multiple sick or dead birds or other animals do not touch them.
Follow these simple steps:
Avoid – do not contact.
Record – what you see with photos if you can.
Report – to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.

H5 avian influenza (bird flu) has been confirmed in a migratory seabird found on an isolated beach in southern Western Australia. This is the first detection of H5 bird flu in Australia.

There have been no detections in poultry or additional native species.

Australia is well prepared to respond to H5 bird flu.

Every year, AAEE awards environmental educators from across Australia for outstanding contributions to environmental education.

Our 2026 awards are now open for nominations, and we’d love you to nominate. Our categories include:
- AAEE National Environmental Educator of the Year - Volunteer
- AAEE National Environmental Educator of the Year - Professional
- AAEE JEDI (Justice/Equity/Diversity/Inclusivity) Environmental Educator of the Year
- AAEE Project/Event of the Year

Nominees in all categories must be current AAEE members, and nominations can be made by any AAEE member, in collaboration with the nominee/s. Nominations close at COB Monday, 25 October.
