For this year's Journey — South Australian Men's Gathering.

The Self Accepting Man.

Not a concept. Not an ideal to chase. Just a man who has done the quiet, honest work of meeting himself as he actually is — and found that's exactly enough of a place to start from.

Most men spend years waiting to feel ready. Ready to open up. Ready to ask for help. Ready to take up space in a room like this. The Self Accepting Man gives himself permission to stop waiting.

He shows up. He sits in the circle. He says the honest thing. And somewhere across those three days — around the fire, in the conversations, in the quiet moments in between — something settles.

This year's gathering is built around that work. Three days at Riverdell Spiritual Centre in Gawler, with men from across South Australia who are ready to meet themselves honestly — and each other.

Last year left a mark on the men who came. This year, we're inviting you in.

There's something rare about a space where a man can just... be.

Fully himself. Honest. Present. Without having to manage how he comes across or hold anything back.

That's what The Journey gives you.

Three days around a fire at Riverdell Spiritual Centre where the conversations go somewhere real, the guard comes down naturally, and something that's been sitting in your chest for a long time finally gets some air.

Men who've been there will tell you — there's nothing quite like it. The openness in the room. The depth of the conversations. The feeling of being genuinely known by men you'd only just met.

Raw. Relatable. Real.

That's the only way we know how to do this.

A proud moment for GBBM this week.

James, Patrick and Forte were honoured to attend a recognition ceremony at Mitcham Council, acknowledging GBBM's contribution to the community.

It was a genuinely special morning. A chance to connect with the Mayor, and to be welcomed to country by the Aboriginal elder whose presence grounded the whole occasion beautifully.

We don't do this work for recognition. But moments like this are a good reminder of why it matters, and how far this community has come.

Thank you to Mitcham Council for the acknowledgement, and to Naomi Jellicoe for capturing the moment.
