Webinar - Hear how the 600 Nurses Project is transforming access to skin cancer screening in underserved communities through nurse-led, artificial intelligence-enabled popup skin check clinics across rural and regional Australia.

Professor Marion Eckert will lead us through the development, implementation, and impact of the project, reflecting on its real-world outcomes.

Additionally, the launch of the Professional Certificate in Clinical Dermoscopy - the first of its kind in Australia - commenced in 2025 with the first cohort of students, further scaling impact by supporting the upskilling of rural and regional nurses nationally.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hear from one of our nursing leaders, Professor Marion Eckert, Industry Professor of Health Innovation and Enterprise, Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre College of Health, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Adelaide University.

ANSAN Webinar 6 - JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute)

Our next ANSAN webinar 6 is a collaboration with JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute), on Implementation sciences, and the experiences of nurse researchers.

The panel discussion will be facilitated by Dr Craig Lockwood, Deputy Director, JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute) and will include distinguished nursing leaders and alumni working in clinical research.

Our expert panel of nursing leaders and alumni for this CPD webinar are:

• Emeritus Professor Alan Pearson AM was the founding Professor of Nursing and Head of School in 1995. Professor Pearson established the Joanna Briggs Institute in 2006 and under his leadership, JBI has grown to be recognised as a world-leaders in evidence-based healthcare. In 2010 Alan was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his distinguished career and service to society and to the University of Adelaide.
• Dr Tamara Page recently commenced as Dean and Head of Adelaide Nursing School, having joined the Adelaide Nursing School in 2012. With extensive experience with St Andrew’s Hospital, Tammy's leadership in safety and quality has been central in emphasising the significance of research and quality improvement in both clinical and academic domains through innovative practices and staff mentoring.
• Thomson Delloso an Emergency Department RN currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Aeromedical Retrieval, recently completing a Master of Traumatology and receiving First Class Honours in Nursing (First-Class). Thomson has a strong interest in clinical education, critical care and trauma.

During the webinar, we will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about our careers in nursing and the opportunities to transition from clinical practice to research.

This year is the 2nd year anniversary of the Adelaide Nursing School Alumni Network (ANSAN) which was launched to support, nurture and develop Adelaide Nursing School alumni through networking and professional development.

Thank you for all the work you are doing to support your colleagues and our community at a time in which health systems are under so much pressure. We’ve been busy working behind the scenes to put together a fantastic face to face networking and mentoring workshop facilitated by Rosslyn Cox, on Tuesday 26 November for you. This informal mentoring and networking event provides an opportunity to build lifelong relationships and support your career in nursing. Professional facilitator, trainer, and leadership coach Rosslyn Cox, will join us for this mentoring workshop which offers a strengths-based approach to personal and professional development, emphasising emotional intelligence and referencing positive psychology and neuroscience.
With over 22 years’ experience in leadership and management positions across government, higher education, not-for-profit and private sectors, Rosslyn designs and facilitates interactive workshops using the latest research in psychology, neuroscience and management. Rosslyn completed a Graduate Diploma Psychological Science in 2011, and a Bachelor of Commerce in 2002 at the University of Adelaide. Rosslyn holds many academic and professional accredited qualifications.

ANSAN Webinar 5 - International Nursing Career Stories

Join our nursing leaders alumni working in Singapore and the UK. This webinar will feature two of our international nursing leaders and alumni; Harry Simmonds, Darzi Fellow in Clinical Leadership at the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. Also joining us from Singapore is Josphyne Koh, Clinical Manager from a Women's Health Clinic.

Both will share details about their nursing career journey with us since graduating and provide us with some insights about the challenges and opportunities of nursing in the UK and Singapore.

Happy International Nurses Day! Today we celebrate and acknowledge the contribution of our alumni, current students and staff for your dedication to nursing, and caring for people in our communities. It is a day to celebrate all nurses in our community for providing care to patients from all walks of life, in all corners of the globe. We are so very proud and grateful for all that you do.

This year the theme is the economic power of care. This theme highlights economic power of care which creates healthy people and societies, and drives healthy economies. With this theme The International Council of Nurses (ICN) aim to reshape perceptions and demonstrate how strategic investment in nursing can bring considerable economic and societal benefits.

We are well into 2024 now, but a warm Happy New Year to you all. I am excited for what this year has in store for the network, and look forward to seeing you all at a face to face event soon.

In 2024 the University of Adelaide is celebrating 150 years of making history, so we hope to see you at one of these exciting events during the course of this year.

The Adelaide Nursing School Alumni Network (ANSAN) have planned a fantastic line up of events to support Professional Development and networking. Our first event of the year will showcase the work of the International Council of Nurses (ICN), and the work they do in advancing the nursing profession, promoting the wellbeing of nurses, and advocating for the health of all.

Our upcoming webinar on the global voice of nursing will feature David Stewart, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, Nursing and Health Policy at the International Council of Nurses (ICN). David will share his nursing journey with us, provide us with some insights about the work of ICN and the main global issues facing nursing today. ICN have always been advocates for progressing health policy on both a global, and local level. I challenge us all to think how we too can be the change we want to see in the world.
