A top-of-the-table clash lived up to expectations as both unbeaten sides battled for early control of Division 2. Parafield Gardens used home advantage and strong support to set the tempo, opening the scoring through Sayner and showing discipline and relentless work rate throughout.

Adelaide Eagles, missing key players including goalkeeper Kosta, created chances with their pace out wide but were unable to convert. The second half remained tight, with both goalkeepers producing crucial saves in a high-pressure contest that saw several cautions issued.

Gardens stayed composed and sealed the result late, securing a 2-0 win and moving to the top of the ladder. Division 2 is heating up, and Parafield Gardens are setting the pace.

The reserves match finished 4-4 in heavy rain, a high-scoring contest where both sides showed attacking quality but will need to improve defensively after costly errors. League leaders Salisbury Downs were pushed by BIH United, with their new midfield additions making a strong impact.

In the seniors, Salisbury Downs came from 2-0 down to win 4-2. BIH United controlled large periods of the first half and took a 2-1 lead into the break, highlighted by a quality finish from number 7. An injury to a key Downs defender shifted momentum, and the home side capitalised on defensive lapses to turn the game around. Late BIH substitutions added energy but left space in midfield, which Downs exploited through their wide play and experience to seal the result. Both goalkeepers made important saves in a fast, open game that showcased the unpredictability of football.

**MATCH RECAP ⚽🔥**

BIH United FC hosted Adelaide Dragon Sporting Club at Robert Haigh Reserve in front of a massive crowd, all rallying behind BIH United’s push for promotion.

The seniors kicked off with intent, and it didn’t take long—just 7 minutes—for BIH to strike first and set the tone. The Dragons responded quickly, catching the keeper off his line to level things just two minutes later. But once Bosna found their rhythm, there was no stopping them.

After building momentum, S. Ligata restored the lead, and just before halftime, E. Sahinovic stepped up with a sniper free kick to make it 3–1—leaving the keeper with no chance.

The second half was all BIH United. The team shifted gears and took complete control, with goals flowing through Omar, Kenan, and Ligata. Omar Kasumovic was unstoppable, completing a clinical hat-trick by the 68th minute and leading the charge in a dominant attacking display.

To cap it all off, Sahinovic produced a moment of magic late in the game—an incredible volley from over 35 metres out that sealed the performance in style.

Full credit to the Dragons, who showed heart throughout, but on the day BIH United were simply on another level.

Off the pitch, the atmosphere was just as electric—fans packed the ground, Bosnian flags waving, and the famous cevapi were sold out by halftime. A true community moment backing the boys.

Matchday atmosphere at Robert Haigh Reserve. A sea of Bosnian flags, the smell of ćevapi in the air, families and friends coming together and backing the boys from the first minute. This is more than football, this is community, passion and pride.

Round 3 of SAASL Saturday Division 3 and the energy is building. BIH United is pushing for promotion this season and we need everyone behind us. Bring your voice, bring your flags and be part of the journey.
