This is the topic of our next Business for Good Program workshop, on Friday 6th November.

Whether you’re starting fresh or refining your approach, this workshop will help you craft a business model that aligns profit with purpose. In a hands-on session, you’ll explore Business Model Design for Good, gaining practical tools to structure your enterprise for both financial sustainability and positive social, environmental and/or cultural impact.

Yesterday we held a special new session of our Business for Good program!

We had a great morning with leaders of small and family businesses who joined us to learn more about the Business for Good spectrum, Theory of Change and different Business for Good models through the Workshop led by Collab4Good.
They put what they learned into practice straight away, with insightful, practical activities and tools.

From there, we moved into Group Mentoring for more in-depth conversations about their particular challenges, connecting with other leaders who share the same questions as they grow a business for good. We talked about finding the right collaborators, impact and business working together, and how to embed and communicate impact.

To everyone who joined us: thank you for your contributions, for the change each of you is creating through your business, and for your willingness to come together and support each other.

Connection is the one word that can join all the dots at our Business for Good Group Mentoring sessions.

Most of us live in a society where communication is mediated mostly by electronic devices. Yet despite all the benefits of the online space, these sessions keep showing us the power of the connections created when people are present, sharing the same physical space.

We confirm this when we hear about the experience and takeaways our participants get from joining these sessions, like the valuable feedback that Mark Koen from Restored Connection shared with us after a recent Group Mentoring, about finding the support to embed stronger business structures, sharpen his strategy, and connect with a network of skilled people.

This is the meaningful part of being in the room for those conversations: participants leave with a sense of belonging, realising that not only are there other purpose-driven entrepreneurs navigating similar situations, but there is also a path and a growing community for anyone trying to work out how to genuinely align purpose with profit.

In October, alongside the City of Onkaparinga and our Business for Good program delivery partner Collab4Good, we're bringing that same space to the Fleurieu region. We're looking forward to a special morning session designed to support impact-driven small and family businesses across the area.

One of the many hats Jacqui Storey has worn over the past two years is that of SASEC Board Member. As a social enterprise founder herself, and with her contagious energy and incredible storytelling, Jacqui has helped connect our members, guided engagement initiatives, served as Secretary, and brought interesting conversations to life across Catch-Up with SASEC sessions.

The time has come, and Jacqui is stepping down. It is with so much gratitude that we want to recognise her dedication and contributions, as well as the warmth and connection she brought to our members and community along the way.

In her own words, here's what has marked Jacqui's journey with SASEC: "I cherished getting to know the other board members and sharing the highs and lows of social enterprise ownership, there was a true kinship there." She also reflected on how much she learnt about the social enterprise sector along the way.

⭐ Supporting the catch up at the Bearded Dragon Gallery, getting to highlight the great work of the social enterprise while meeting other like minded people.
