The NATIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE FOR MIGRANT EMPOWERMENT (NRCME) is an Australian non-profit organisation that provides programmes and services to migrants, refugees, and humanitarian immigrants in all Australian states and territories. We help and support migrants, refugees or asylum seekers across Australia. We provides support to migrants settling in Australia by:
(a) facilitating
the smooth integration of migrants into the mainstream Australian population by considering and raising awareness of their health and wellbeing, cultural challenges, language barriers, and barriers to education;
(b) aiding migrants in Australia by assisting with services including (but not limited to):
(i) arranging rental of suitable accommodation;
(ii) liaising with the appropriate government agencies to obtain services such as settlement assistance and JobSeeker;
(iii) interpreting and explaining paperwork and official documents such as leases, banking documents and utility commitments; and
(iv) assistance in the purchase of basic necessities;
(c) providing a means for migrants to engage with other migrants and the broader Australian community to help promote and build confidence and familiarity with their new home;
(d) developing programs and activities to assist in education, mentoring and building skills that will assist migrants in their integration into the Australian community;
(e) promoting the benefits of multiculturalism and diversity; and
(f) doing all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above purposes, to the extent such other things are charitable under the laws of each State or Territory of Australia.
