From first cuts to a finished piece 👏

Katie joined our January 8 Week Beginners Course and has just sent through these shots of her completed build — a stunning vinyl record stand (honestly, more of a console 👌).

Crafted from beautiful Tassie Oak sourced from Urban Salvage, this piece is a perfect example of what can happen when you commit to the process, trust your skills, and back yourself in the workshop.

Proud is an understatement. Well done Katie, and to our amazing tutors a big pat on the back!!

Our first term for the year has officially wrapped up — and what a great one it was. So many new skills learned, projects built, and confidence gained in the workshop. 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this term, it’s been an absolute pleasure having you in the space.

The Shed Melbourne is proud to be represented at the TTT event this Saturday! If you’re free pop down to have a chat and check out some amazing demo’s as well as a sneaky little new tool that we will be releasing in conjunction with .wood.design and ‘doors’ open at 8:30am. I think there will be doughnuts, so at least come for the doughnuts!!

A beautiful piece by Henry, built right here at The Shed Melbourne. This vinyl record cabinet was crafted from solid Victorian Ash during our 8-week beginners woodworking course, with a couple of extra one-on-one sessions to bring it all together. Designed to house a serious vinyl collection and hi-fi setup, it’s as functional as it is timeless.⁠
