ArtsReady aims to become Australia’s leading provider of quality arts and creative industry traineeships for young school-leavers, school students and young adults. ArtsReady is a new program focussed on the creation of industry partnerships to support the arts and creative sector to thrive. The program provides exciting career opportunities for young people across the wide variety of technical, m
anagement and administrative roles within these organisations. Initially established in Victoria and NSW, ArtsReady aims to become Australia’s leading provider of quality arts and creative industry traineeships for young school-leavers, senior high school students and other young adults. The program is unique way of providing exciting career pathways through on-the-job traineeships. ArtsReady is funded through the National Cultural Policy, Creative Australia, in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to support training and skills development in the arts and creative industries. An ArtsReady traineeship can open doors for students to gain superior qualifications, while completing specific on-the-job training that can provides skills for a variety of important technical, management and administrative support jobs outside of elite artist-types of roles. These jobs could include a sound mixer for radio, a camera operator for television, a lighting designer for film, a stage manager for theatre or a web developer for an art gallery.
