Stop the with hunt against LGBTIQ+ in Turkey

Yesterday, a new threshold was crossed in Turkey with the arrests targeting LGBTI+ rights campaigners, organisations and solidarity networks. This is not merely an action directed at a few individuals. It is the portrayal of being LGBTI+, defending LGBTI+ rights, or providing medical, legal or social support as a crime. We recognise that this is not a ‘public order’ operation, but a systematic attempt to intimidate LGBTI+ individuals and their rights.
LGBT+ identity, human rights advocacy or healthcare provision are not evidence of a crime. Accusing a diverse group of individuals, organisations and claims of a collective offence through sweeping charges is not justice; it is scapegoating. This diverts the Turkish people’s attention from real issues and does not strengthen social harmony; on the contrary, it undermines it.
As Q***r Base, we have two separate messages for LGBTI+ individuals living in Turkey and Austria.
We address LGBTI+ people living in the Republic of Turkey: You are not alone. Your existence, your love and your dignity are not up for debate. Your struggle and solidarity transcend borders.
Our message to LGBTI+ individuals who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey living in Austria is also that you are not alone. In particular, LGBTI+ people facing issues such as migration, asylum, discrimination, violence or a need for social support can contact Q***r Base. Our social and legal advisers are ready to assist you. ***rrefugees

Q***r Base thanks everyone who made this pride unforgettable: All new and old members of Q***r Base who joined and supported, for kicking off the great vibes at the beginning, our DJs and DJ Alex for making us bounce in Q***r Joy. for giving us not only a last minute soundsystem but your technical support through the whole day. All our Couchsurfers Buddies who not only shared their space but also donated ticket money to bring Q***r Refugees to Vienna, who offered help and donated more ticket money, for the coooool drinks. And last but not least, the team of !

Because of all of our Rainbow Love Q***r Refugees can bath in sunshine after the rain.

The Parade starts at 12h, if you want to walk through the Rainbow with us you should be at the startnumber 4 at latest at 11:45. This is on the Ring at Rathaus park.
