What happens when generations come together to share experiences, ideas, and hopes for the future?

Within the Sustainable Seniors Project, we are bringing together young people (18–25) and seniors (60+) for an inspiring and interactive dialogue experience focused on connection, learning, and meaningful conversation.

🌍 environmental challenges
🗳️ civic participation & democracy
🤝 the role of different generations in shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future

✨ Compass Quest kicks off in Riga!

On 19-20 March 2026, partners of the Compass Quest project gathered in Riga, Latvia for our very first international workshop, marking the official start of this exciting journey together.

Hosted at Riga Teika Secondary School, the meeting combined exchange, creativity, and hands-on learning. Over two days, we explored the concept of photo orienteering as an educational tool - from understanding its methodology to testing it in real-life settings.

📍 What we did:
• Learned about the principles behind photo orienteering
• Shared experiences on integrating it into school subjects
• Took part in a practical outdoor orienteering activity
• Co-created and improved game concepts together
• Tested the activities directly with students

🏃‍♂️ About the project
Compass Quest is an Erasmus+ Sport project that uses game-based orienteering and scavenger hunt methods to promote physical activity, inclusion, and active lifestyles among young people. By combining sport with cultural exploration, the project engages high school students in discovering local heritage while developing teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a stronger sense of European identity.

🚀 Ready to design solutions for the communities that need it most? Join the project in Milan! 🇮🇹We are looking for a passionate young person (aged 18–30) to join our upcoming Erasmus+ mobility: "Prioritising the places and people that need it the most".

📅 When: 17–23 May 2026
📍 Where: Milan, Italy (hosted at the incredible CoFactory Designtech hub!)

Through non-formal education and co-creation, we will dive into the New European Bauhaus initiative. You’ll team up with peers from across Europe to:
✨ Develop concrete, sustainable, and inclusive projects based on real local needs.
✨ Address complex societal challenges through teamwork and expert guest lessons.
✨ Actually build and pitch 2–3 prototype ideas to transform living spaces!
🌍 Who should apply?
We welcome diverse backgrounds! Priority will be given to participants facing economic, social, cultural, or geographical barriers.

Today, we take a look at OrientWalking’s activities in Austria 🇦🇹 . Thanks to our participants, we discovered the beautiful trails of Mödling and the Wienerwald.

The OrientWalking app is now accessible anytime, anywhere with new routes to help you enjoy the pleasures of walking in nature.

Stay tuned for more nature connected activities to enhance your physical well-being.

Flashback to Milan 🇮🇹, where from 3–5 December 2025 the partners gathered for the final transnational meeting. Over three days, representatives from all partner countries engaged in productive discussions and reflections, setting the foundation for sustainable and inclusive national Orient Walking activities. A key moment of the meeting was the official launch of the OrientWalking App, marking an important milestone for the project.

On the second day, divided into small teams, we explored some of Milan’s most iconic and characteristic places. Navigating the city on foot and discovering the city’s landmarks through movement, experiencing firsthand the spirit of Orient Walking.

The activities concluded with the conference “Beyond the Erasmus Plus Sport Projects: Building a Healthier and More Active Europe,” by which provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, new partnerships, and innovative ideas to support more active lifestyles across Europe.

A memorable and forward-looking meeting that set the tone for the next chapter of the Orient Walking initiative.
