We’re delighted to share that alp was a partner with Leitrim County Childcare Committee as part of our Erasmus+ project
“Overcoming Empathy Fatigue in Child and Youth Work – Approaches in Self-Care for Child & Youth Workers.” 🌱
This first step into the training highlights the importance of understanding stress responses and building awareness through mindfulness—key elements for supporting the development of self-leadership, in this course specifically with those working with children and young people in a sustainable and compassionate way.
The training was co-lead by Paola Bortini and Peter Hofmann
A great start to a meaningful learning journey together 💚
🌿 As our Erasmus+ Project “Overcoming Empathy Fatigue in Child and Youth Work – Approaches in Self-Care for Child & Youth Workers” commenced, the focus in the first sessions, involved exploring a key question: how do we respond to stress? 🌊
Pictured below is trainer Paola Bortini (www.limina.at) guiding mindfulness practices and group reflection. Participants were guided to start beginning to recognize their automatic patterns and connect them with their work in child and youth settings.
The participants were also introduced to the three emotional regulation systems - a powerful framework to understand threat, drive, and soothing states. An essential foundation for preventing empathy fatigue and bringing more awareness and choice into relationships with young people.
