IFITT The global eTourism knowledge network and community http://www.ifitt.net An experienced and respected Board manages IFITT operations and strategy.

IFITT provides an eTourism knowledge hub for tourism and technology experts, in industry and academia. It is one of the world's oldest tourism and technology non-profit organisations, founded in 1997 at the 4th ENTER Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. The IFITT community comprises about 350 professionals from around the world, particularly Western Europe. In 2016, IFITT will host 23rd annual ENTER Conference from 2-5 February in Bilbao, Spain. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) form the netware that enable today's global tourism and leisure industry in the developed world. Web based reservation systems, distributed multi-media systems, mobile work places and electronic markets are notable results of this development. Recently social networking and Web 2.0 influence the online reputation of tourism organisations and destinations, becoming critical for marketing and competitiveness. eTourism tools, technologies and methodologies can facilitate efficient networking of information systems in the tourism industry. The Federation extensively discusses and progresses the economic, consumer and organisational impacts of eTourism through events such as the ENTER conference, Workshops and IFITT supported publications. IFITT members include researchers and practitioners of eTourism who treasure the power of networking and global knowledge sharing for improving their competitiveness and innovation. Institutional members include organisations, companies and research institutes active in the eTourism space. IFITT is largely Internet-based, but has a registered base in Innsbruck, Austria. The Region of Tyrol, the city of Innsbruck, the Tyrolean Tourist Board and the Congress Centre Innsbruck, initiated the inaugural and early ENTER conferences, which led to the formation of IFITT.

That's not a problem. That's the whole idea.

We're looking for promising research — new concepts, emerging theoretical contributions and preliminary findings that deserve discussion, feedback and new perspectives.

You have up to 5 pages to tell us: "Here's what we're building. We think there's something interesting here.”
Then bring it to Madrid and let the ENTER community help you think about what it could become. 💙

Accepted Working Papers will be presented at ENTER27 and published open access in the ENTER27 Adjunct Proceedings — and they'll also be considered for the Best Working Paper Award. 🏆

Good news:
You haven't missed the train to Madrid. 🚆🇪🇸😄
Not every great idea needs 12 pages.
Maybe your research is still developing. Maybe you have preliminary findings you're excited about. Maybe you have an industry case, a teaching innovation or a method you'd love to share. Maybe you built something people really need to SEE. Maybe you have a question that deserves a table full of smart people rather than another PowerPoint presentation.

ENTER27 has a format for all of those. 💙

What if your research isn't finished yet...
…but you already know there's something interesting there? 👀💡

Excellent. We want to hear about it.
The ENTER27 Working Paper track is for promising original research that is still developing.
- A new conceptual idea.
- An emerging theoretical contribution.
- Preliminary findings that made you stop and think: “Okay. THIS is interesting.”

You don't need the final chapter of the story yet.
You need a strong question, a promising contribution and something worth discussing with the international eTourism community.

Working Papers can be up to 5 pages and accepted papers will be presented at ENTER27 in Madrid and published open access in the ENTER27 Adjunct Proceedings.
And yes... 🏆 There's also a Best Working Paper Award.

But perhaps the biggest prize is getting your developing research into a room full of people who might challenge it, strengthen it, connect it to something unexpected — or simply say: “You know, you really should keep going with this.”
Sometimes that's exactly what research needs. 💙

TODAY'S THE DAY. 🚨🎓 The final day.
The "stop tweaking that one sentence and just submit it” day. 😄

If your ENTER27 Doctoral Workshop proposal is still sitting on your laptop... this is your sign.

Your research question doesn't need to be perfect.
Your conceptual framework doesn't need to explain the entire universe.
You don't need to know exactly what your results will be.
And no, you absolutely do not need to have your whole PhD figured out.

That's why it's a doctoral workshop. 💙
- Three pages.
- Your research idea.
- Where you are now.
- Where you think you're going.
- And the questions you'd love some smart people to help you think through.

That's enough.
Because the goal isn't to arrive in Madrid in January with all the answers.

If you've ever wished you could sit down with experienced researchers and say:
“Here's what I'm trying to do. Does this make sense?”

“Is this methodology going to work?”
“And where on earth do I go next?”..the ENTER27 Doctoral Workshop was made for conversations like these.

Bring your research proposal — at any stage of development — to Madrid and discuss it in a supportive environment with members of the international IFITT community.
Your proposal can be up to 3 pages.
If accepted, you'll prepare just 5 slides and a 5-minute presentation.
Then comes the valuable part:
