Fulbright Austria is pleased to invite you to an evening full of artistic expression in Washington, DC! On 5 June 2026 at the German-American Heritage Museum, 2019–20 US Fulbright student and award-winning opera singer Alexis Rodda will perform music by early-20th-century Viennese composer Egon Lustgarten—who was a central figure in Alexis’s Fulbright research project—as well as works by Lustgarten’s contemporaries Karl Weigl, Hugo Kauder, and Alma Mahler.
Prior to the performance, you are invited to explore the exhibition “Architect Victor Gruen: Father of the Shopping Mall” to discover more about the Austrian-American immigrant whose urban planning and bold vision left an impact on the US throughout the 20th century.
Light refreshments will also be available, and you’ll have ample time to network with your fellow members of the community.
