Donau Soja The future grows here: European, deforestation-free and non-GMO. One bean, one standard - Europe Soya, powered by Donau Soja Organisation.

- Förderung des Gentechnik-freien Sojaanbaus und der Verarbeitung in der Donauregion für Österreich und Europa – unter dem Markenzeichen Donau Soja;
- Aufbau

von verlässlichen Liefer- und Wertschöpfungsketten durch die Mitgliedsunternehmen, als Beitrag zur europäischen Eiweißversorgung;

- Regionale Wertschöpfung, Gentechnik-Freiheit, Nachhaltigkeit und Rückverfolgbarkeit als wesent¬liche Eck¬pfeiler der Donau Soja (Details dazu: siehe Kriterienkatalog);
- Anbau ausschließlich auf bereits vorhandenen Ackerbau- und Brachflächen im Donauraum, unter ausdrücklichem Ausschluss von Naturschutzgebieten und anderen Schutzzonen;
- Etablierung der Donau Soja und ihrer Produktionskriterien als europaweit anerkannte Qualitätsmarke;
- Beitrag zur Reduktion des CO2-Fußabdrucks bei Sojaprodukten und Fleisch – durch die Förder¬ung europäischer Eiweißträger;
- Systematische Information und Einbindung der Öffentlichkeit sowie aller relevanten Stake¬holder aus Wirt¬schaft, NGOs und Politik;
- Förderung begleitender Forschung im Bereich Wirtschaft und Ökologie zur Erfolgsmessung und Evaluierung des Programms.

☀️🌡🌾 Droughts, shifting seasons, unpredictable weather – European soybean farming is under pressure. What does adaptation actually look like?

👉 At our General Assembly & Networking Event on 11 June in Vienna, Panel 3 brings together voices from the field to share what is working.

🌱 In our webinar last Wednesday, we asked soya operators how ready they are for EUDR – and unpacked what the May 2026 simplification package actually changes. 👇

The short version? The regulation is moving forward. The April/May 2026 simplification package brought some welcome clarity – but it did not push back the deadline.

📅 30 December 2026 for large and medium operators. 30 June 2027 for small and micro enterprises.

Missed the webinar? Watch the full recording here: 🔗 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PTfkAabccM

Here are the three things every soya operator needs to know:
➡️ Low risk ≠ no obligation. All EU Member States and most European countries – including Ukraine and Serbia – are classified as low risk. But low-risk classification only means simplified due diligence. You still need to assess your supply chain and submit a Due Diligence Statement (DDS).

➡️ Data is non-negotiable. Geolocation data, legality documentation, deforestation checks – these requirements apply regardless of where your soya comes from.

➡️ Time is short. Building a compliant due diligence system takes months. Our implementation timeline shows the full path to compliance by end of year – step by step.

🌍 At Donau Soja, we offer an end-to-end solution: Insights handles geodata collection, deforestation analysis, and DDS submission. Our experts guide you through every step of the process – from GAP analysis to internal audit support.

Compliance can feel like a burden – but the right tools change that. At Donau Soja, we help businesses turn regulatory pressure into market advantage. 💡

➡️ At our General Assembly & Networking Event on 11 June in Vienna, sessions is fully dedicated to this:
🗣️ Three focused presentations. Real solutions. Measurable impact:

Matthias Mohrs – Carbon footprint tools in action: understand and communicate the carbon emissions of your soya supply chain, with data that holds up to scrutiny

Milica Motika – Stay ahead of EUDR with Insights: end-to-end support to stay compliant and keep market access

Mirjana Lalošević – Where expertise meets real field impact: a trusted route into Europe's largest soybean network, from field validation to market access

Moderated by Jovana Djisalov, Donau Soja. 🎤

Trader, processor, agri-input provider or producer – this session is for you.

📊 What does the global non-GM soya market look like in 2026?

At the International Non-GMO Summit 2026 in Frankfurt, Donau Soja's Executive Director Regional Director Eastern Europe Volodymyr Pugachov presented a market update on worldwide supply and demand of non-GM soya - together with Emese van Maanen from ProTerra Foundation. 🎤

The numbers tell a strong story: in 2025, Donau Soja certified 1 million tonnes of soya from 13 European countries, with over 9,000 farmers and more than 1,000 certified partners active across 34 countries. 🌱 🌍

➡️ European production is expanding and so is the case for sourcing closer to home. As regulations evolve, from new non-GM labelling rules to shifting trade conditions, credible certification and transparent value chains are what keep non-GM supply trustworthy for buyers, processors and retailers alike.

The data is clear: non-GM soya is not a niche - it is a strategic pillar of Europe's protein supply. 💪

🎉 The International Non-GMO Summit 2026 has started! 🌿

Today, Donau Soja joins co-organisers ARGE Gentechnik-frei, the European Non-GMO Industry Association (ENGA), ProTerra Foundation and VLOG in Frankfurt, bringing together the non-GMO sector for a day of knowledge exchange, dialogue and concrete action. 🤝

The summit tackles one of the most pressing questions facing the sector: how to maintain credible non-GMO food and feed chains as New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) move closer to the European market.

Our General Manager Aurélie Tournan is on the ground together with our team and partners, proud to represent the European non-GM soya sector alongside our fellow co-organisers. 💚

Stay tuned for more from today's sessions! 📸
