The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative

The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative Arnold Schwarzenegger has been fighting pollution and climate change for 20 years.

His approach has always centred around the idea that we need "less talk, more action". His official Climate Initiative therefore focuses on concrete actions and projects. The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative focuses on:

- building awareness on the climate crisis and the urgent need for action
every day and once a year at our AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT (AWS).
- presenting workable solutions from

all over the world and connecting these
ideas to available technical and financial resources.
- supporting best in class climate protection projects from all over the world.
- serving as a "matchmaker" - we connect players from business, finance,
NGOs and local & national governments committed to collaborating on
sustainable projects. The basis for a functioning community is mutual respect and tolerance for other opinions and views. To ensure a fair cooperation, there are the following rules:
- Personal attacks, insults and accusations are not allowed on this site.
- Radical, sexist, religious and racist statements are not accepted. The
same applies to the violation of Austrian or international laws.
- The privacy of other people is to be respected.
- Spam, advertising, calls for meetings and rallies of any kind are

We are excited to announce that Kamala D. Harris, the 49th Vice President of the United States, will join us at the 10th AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT on June 16, 2026, at the Hofburg Vienna.

Held under the motto WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE, this year’s Summit will bring together leaders from politics, business, science, civil society, and culture to accelerate solutions for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.

For week one of , we spent time with Anni, a resident at one Caritas’s retirement homes, to talk about climate change, everyday life, and what we can learn from older generations. 💚

One thing became very clear: not everything needs to happen faster, bigger, and all at once.

A slower way of living can mean consuming less, appreciating more, reconnecting with nature, and making choices that are better for both people and the planet.

Sometimes climate action starts with simply changing the pace.
