Arnold Schwarzenegger has been fighting pollution and climate change for 20 years.

His approach has always centred around the idea that we need "less talk, more action". His official Climate Initiative therefore focuses on concrete actions and projects. The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative focuses on:

- building awareness on the climate crisis and the urgent need for action
every day and once a year at our AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT (AWS).
- presenting workable solutions from all over the world and connecting these
ideas to available technical and financial resources.
- supporting best in class climate protection projects from all over the world.
- serving as a "matchmaker" - we connect players from business, finance,
NGOs and local & national governments committed to collaborating on
sustainable projects. The basis for a functioning community is mutual respect and tolerance for other opinions and views. To ensure a fair cooperation, there are the following rules:
- Personal attacks, insults and accusations are not allowed on this site.
- Radical, sexist, religious and racist statements are not accepted. The
same applies to the violation of Austrian or international laws.
- The privacy of other people is to be respected.
- Spam, advertising, calls for meetings and rallies of any kind are
inappropriate on our site.
- Comments and posts that violate one or more of these rules will be
deleted.

Our founder Arnold Schwarzenegger took the stage for several panels at the California Economic Summit, bringing together leaders, innovators and changemakers to discuss the future of climate action, collaboration and real solutions.

A special highlight was celebrating 20 years of AB 32, the landmark climate law Arnold signed as Governor of California in 2006, proving that environmental protection and economic growth can go hand in hand.

Two decades later, his message remains as relevant as ever: progress doesn’t happen when we focus on our differences. It happens when we come together and take action.

Our Director Monika Langthaler is in Los Angeles alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and the to celebrate the 20th anniversary of AB 32, California’s landmark climate law signed by Arnold during his time as Governor in 2006.

Long before climate action became a global priority, Arnold was already leading the way. As a pioneer in environmental policy, he proved that protecting our planet and growing the economy can go hand in hand, and that real progress happens when we work beyond political divides.

Two decades later, his commitment to terminating pollution is stronger than ever! 💪

We are incredibly proud to have Arnold as our founder and to continue building on his legacy through the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative and the , bringing together leaders, innovators and changemakers from around the world to turn climate ambition into action.

Because climate action isn’t new to Arnold. And we’re far from finished.

Our Director Monika Langthaler has been in Los Angeles, working alongside our founder, Arnold Schwarzenegger, as preparations continue for the 2027 AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT and our upcoming Special Dinner for Climate Action.

While in LA, Arnold also hosted his annual charity poker night in support of After-School All-Stars, an organization he founded to create brighter futures for children and young people across the United States. This year’s event raised an incredible $9.75 million! 👏

A powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together for a good cause.

And we’re bringing that same spirit of action back to Austria! On January 21, 2027, we’ll gather at the Stanglwirt in Kitzbühel for our annual Special Dinner for Climate Action, this year under the theme RE-WILD: An Ode to Nature and Its Elements. 🌿

With the Austrian World Summit returning to Vienna on June 8, 2027, there’s plenty to look forward to and even more work to be done.

Because when it comes to protecting our planet, WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE! 💪🌎
