🧩 The journey is only just beginning, but the ambition and enthusiasm behind it are already strong. The kickoff meeting in Vienna marked the first step on a long journey that can bring growth and enrichment in many directions—both professionally for clown artists and personally for young people facing mental health difficulties.

📌 Last week, RED NOSES colleagues from across our network came together for FUNCOM 2026, our annual gathering of fundraising and communication teams.

💬 Over four days, we shared what's working, what isn't, and where we want to grow. We asked hard questions, were honest about our challenges, and spent time co-creating campaign ideas we hope to bring to life together in 2026 and beyond.

✨ A real exchange between people who care about the same mission, and want to keep getting better at it.

Our new three-year journey of connection, learning and transformation is now in motion. 🚀

In Vienna, 4️⃣9️⃣ local artistic leads, clown artists, mental health specialists and researchers from: 🇦🇹 🇫🇮 🇪🇸 🇸🇰 🇵🇱 🇨🇿 🇭🇺 🇱🇹 🇭🇷 🇮🇹 came together to join forces and begin a shared project that will support youth mental health through new healthcare clowning methods and by bringing and into patient care. 🌱

“Youth mental health calls for new approaches and we respond with human connection, creativity, and the power of healthcare clowning.”

💬 This message from the meeting will guide us as we create safe spaces for young people in psychiatric care, grow new skills and strengthen connections among clown artists across Europe. 🌐

✨ Solidarity is not a grand gesture. It is built slowly, through hundreds of small decisions we barely notice. A smile at a stranger, a kind word to a colleague, holding the door for someone whose hands are full.

❤️ It is exactly these small, consistent choices, and the support of people who believe in this work, that make it possible for the clown artists of RED NOSES Croatia to be on hospital wards every day, giving children the chance to play, smile, and simply be children, even in the hardest of moments.

Velike događaje i životne prekretnice pamtimo. No ono što nas uistinu definira kao ljude, male su odluke koje svakodnevno donosimo, a da i ne primijetimo. 🌸

Odluka da pozdravimo kad uđemo u trgovinu. Da se nasmiješimo neznancu u prolazu. Da kolegicu pitamo kako je. Da susjedu pridržimo vrata jer vidimo da su mu ruke pune.

Takvi trenuci prolaze neopaženo, no upravo oni grade odnose među ljudima i oblikuju društvo u kojem živimo.

Solidarnost nije velika gesta. Ne nastaje odjednom, već se gradi polako i kontinuirano, kroz stotine i tisuće malih odluka s velikom snagom. 💗

Upravo zahvaljujući malim, redovitim odlukama naših Smjehonoša, djeca imaju priliku za igru, osmijeh i bezbrižnost, čak i u bolnici.

✨ What happens when you bring circus arts, clowning, and a commitment to inclusion into the same space?

🎪 Blue Heart Circus, developed by RED NOSES Jordan, invited children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their neurotypical peers to explore self-expression, build social skills, and discover the joy of performing together. They reached not just children, but their parents, caregivers, and the wider community.
