CCI Europe CCI Europe represents Europe in the CCI global network of childhood cancer parents’ and survivors’ support groups. We are here to make it a reality.

Parents, patients, survivors and patient advocates are united to improve the medical and psychosocial care for children and adolescents with cancer all over Europe, to implement the European Standards of Care to eliminate still existing inequalities to improve the quality of survivorship. We as CCI Europe work together with the medical and psychosocial professionals, academia, researchers, scienti

sts, civil society and private organizations for the same aim, to help children and adolescents with cancer to be cured, with no – or as few as possible – long term health problems / late effects. Every child with cancer deserves a chance, no matter where in Europe they live.

🌟 Day 3 brought the Conference in Glasgow to a close, finishing strong and looking ahead to what’s next!

🗓️ The programme featured a joint session on that meet scientific goals and needs, together with , as well as abstract presentations on the role of patient-reported outcome measures ( ) in clinical trials.

🧩 Sessions also explored the different faces of and highlighted research that listens to survivors and parents, helping to drive progress in childhood cancer.

🔮 The conference closed with a look ahead at what’s next for CCI Europe.

🎉 A “braw” (that’s Scottish for great!) start to the Conference in Glasgow! Once again, the conference is held in partnership with SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology - SIOPE!

🗓️ The day began with the Survivors’ Session, followed by Childhood Cancer International updates and a special CCI Europe throwback highlighting the past months through a timeline, as well as a look ahead to the year to come. The day also featured Spotlight Sessions highlighting important projects and initiatives such as , , and .

The first step toward creating IMPACT(-EU) has been taken 💛✨ 💛✨

Last week in Vienna 🇦🇹, hosted by the partner Medizinische Universität Wien, we held the very first Consensus Group Meeting as part of the project, co-funded by the .

A core pillar of this project is Setting Shared Standards for in in Europe.

Bringing together a diverse group of experts in a Consensus Group 🤝including healthcare professionals 👩🏻‍⚕️, patient advocates 💬, and representatives of parent and patient organisations 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 last week we began shaping a shared vision:

🎗️What the European Standards for psychosocial care in should include
🎗️ What they should look like
🎗️ What goals they should serve for children and families affected by

The discussions were rich and inspiring with some great key outcomes:
📣Defining the core elements of the Standards
📣 Exploring their structure
📣 Outlining the initial chapters
📣 Laying a strong foundation to guide the next phases of work

This is just the beginning 🚀 Three additional consensus meetings will follow later this year 💻, continuing the work and strengthening our shared efforts 🌍

🎗️ Siblings play a unique and lasting role in a child's life, one that becomes even more significant when cancer enters the picture.

🧠 When a child is diagnosed with cancer, their are deeply affected too. Feelings of isolation, confusion, and anxiety are common, as family routines and dynamics shift around them. Too often, though, their needs go unnoticed, and they remain underrepresented in family support programmes across .

✨ This , we are reminded that truly supporting a child with cancer means supporting everyone around them. Siblings are not bystanders, they are individuals with their own needs, challenges, and right to support. Ensuring they feel seen, informed, and included is not a secondary concern. It is an essential part of family-centred care.
